Walmart canada clearance (August)
Walmart canada clearance (August)
Just found lego city - police station - the big one! - listed on walmart's website at 60$. Reg 129$ Out of stock on line but I was able to check local availability by typing in my postal code. Found one where I live but toysrus was closer to my house and price matched it for me. Hurray! :)

Great question!Shijima wrote:Tru price matches online prices?
Would they also price match the Chapters 25% off sale?

I just had to pull up the screen showing availability in our city with the price - it was the assistant manager we dealt with at toysrus.

Re: Walmart canada clearance
In the last couple of years, most (if not all) Canadian retailers will not match a blanket percent off sale (such as 25% off all items, 20% off City Lego or what ever it might be). They will only match specific price listings. So for example, if TRU offers a 20% off all City sets, and then puts a picture of the Fire Station set in the their flier with an actual discounted price next to it, then other stores that carry the Fire Station will match the price shown in the flier. They will not match the 20% off on other not shown sets.
I am surpised to hear that TRU matched an online price. That's not the story I usually hear from people dealing with TRU. Usually its how TRU is run by dirtbags and incompetent sales people.

Might be a sign on how well Toys R Us are doing, or just got lucky from one of those csr whom are clueless or do not care about their job doing the price match.hatcher wrote:In the last couple of years, most (if not all) Canadian retailers will not match a blanket percent off sale (such as 25% off all items, 20% off City Lego or what ever it might be). Re: Walmart canada clearance
In the past I've been unsuccessful with TRU matching the prices of other retailers but it has been a while since I've tried. Walmart usually has the best price match policy, and I wish that every other retailer would follow suit.
Re: Walmart canada clearance
Nah, it depends. Last time when I tried to price match the City Mine set with Target at Walmart, they refused to do so saying that it had to be on a flyer with a discounted price tag right beside it. I checked the stock with Target before going and just told them to phone Target to check, but they refused to do so. I ended up driving to Target to get it, but it's just a waste of time dealing with the Walmart people. The reason I tried to do it was because I already purchased one from Walmart and sorta a hassle to get one at Target again. So it depends on the sales person or manager you deal with...sometimes that person has a bad day and refuses to do anything for you even if you have the right to do so and gives you a bunch of crap.scotts wrote:In the past I've been unsuccessful with TRU matching the prices of other retailers but it has been a while since I've tried. Re: Walmart canada clearance
The price match policy at my local retailers(either Walmart or TRUs) is very stricted. They were as serious as what Hatcher mentioned. They would do the price match ONLY for an exact/specific item they saw on flyer. I think member from OP was very lucky that he got someone to process that price match for him.
Re: Walmart canada clearance
For Walmart, they need at least some sort of print out or proofs of the actual discount price, also, just a reminder, no price match on % off sales, buy x get x sales, or on clearances, but no flyers are needed either. The Mine set discount price was only in stores only, unless you took a photo to show them, I think they have ever right not to price match given the huge price difference there. Else anyone can come in and say xxx retailer have this for almost nothing, and Walmart have to price match it simply by their word. But when it all comes down to it, either having a supervisor or manager whom do not give a darn, or having an extremly nice day help a lot when price matching too.DrRichie wrote:Nah, it depends. Re: Walmart canada clearance
I found the Gungan Sub for $40 today at the Mapleview Drive Walmart in Barrie (Ontario). They had about 9 of them left. Obviously your mileage may vary, but since Queen Amidala alone is going for over $20 on bricklink, $40 is a steal. There are a lot of nice grey and blue pieces in there.

Did you grab them all Hatcher? I am heading there tonight to get my PS3 Marvel Super Heroes preorder, as the Bayfield street location does not have it.hatcher wrote:I found the Gungan Sub for $40 today at the Mapleview Drive Walmart in Barrie (Ontario). Re: Walmart canada clearance
I was able to get Attack of the Wars for $45 (last one) at the Guilford, Surrey location. They also have the Forest Police Station on for $80.
Re: Walmart canada clearance
Forest Police in Winnipeg for $50. I passed it up but I might go back for one. Several Attack of the Wargs for $45 but I'm hoping they'll go down to about $30 before I buy. Several Gungan Subs at $60 but again I'm hoping to get them at around $40.
Re: Walmart canada clearance
Attack of the Wargs for $45 and Gungan Subs at $60 have been at those proces for weeks now. The way it work is if stock is still full after a while, they will choose to drop it more or leave it the way they are. So if they sell at their current price, then why bother dropping them more? I suggest those that can wait, wait, since if not then they will never drop further.nami wrote:Forest Police in Winnipeg for $50. I passed it up but I might go back for one. Re: Walmart canada clearance
Gungan Sub was $40 last weekend at Walmart in Barrie. Hatcher alerted us to the price, so I went and purchased one set. There were still six or seven sets left after I got mine. The Minister of finance would not allow me to purchase a second set. She said we don't have the space.dulait wrote:Attack of the Wargs for $45 and Gungan Subs at $60 have been at those proces for weeks now.
