Makes sense now that it looks like the TRU at Metrotown (Burnaby, BC) just opened a box of Gandalf polybag since they had quite a bit on the shelf today.

Hey guys, does anybody know if the 10228 Haunted House is OFFICIALLY considered to be a Monster Fighters set? I've been waiting for over 6 months to see some kind of price break on this set and haven't seen it anywhere yet!

It does say "Monster Fighters" on the box, and is tagged as Monster Fighters theme on LEGO so I would assume so? Who knows with TRU, though.

Yea exactly...I know they don't carry it in stores, so if the website tomorrow doesn't have it listed then its a lost cause, their online customer service sucks 2x2 bricks...

Buy it ahead of time, like right now. Then ask for a price adjustment once it goes on sale. Freaking awesome set...got one in the US and haven't gotten around to building it, but from the display I've seen in-store... impressive.

It should be, but there is a markup on this I believe, so I do not think we are getting all of 20% on it. With that in mind, it is like getting it with scratch and save at Lego store plus $10 reward points.

Was looking for baseplates but I don't see them listed on their website. This seems like the best deal we'll see for the HH in Canada since it's exclusive. And as Toronadian has said it's a fantastic looking set, even my wife (who hasn't turned to the Lego dark side yet) commented on how cool it looks. Does Lego ever offer 10% off coupons in their catalogs in Canada or is that in the U.S. only?

Looks like it is part of the sale, at $167.97 since the original price was marked up $10 to 209.99 from 199.99...
Retail in the US is 179.99 though, so it still might be worth it.

I picked one up, like I said it's a fantastic looking set. Fans of modulars will live this set, plus it makes a great Halloween center piece. Am I selling it?

I remember last year for a while when the unimog use to be listed at like $20 below Canadian retail and with the 20% off it would been a great deal. Now, not so much.

I was waiting for the right time to buy this set and this 20% off TRU sale is the best I've seen yet. Thus, ordered one I just did too!

Of course Haunted House is sold out just as I went to order one. Better luck next time.

What you can do (next time) is order before the sale starts and then call back for a price adjustment when they open. That's what I did as I thought these sets would go fast. It turns out I would have been able to order one anyways as I was up early no matter. If they're still listing the set sign up for an email alert and they may get them back in stock before the sale is over.

Just got back from my local TRU. I was able to purchase the Gandalf bag on it's own for $4.99. I also went to the electronics area and asked if I could purchase the Elrond figure; he checked with his boss and they weren't able to sell it to me, however he said he could just give me one! So, I bought Gandalf and got Elrond for free!
Didn't expect that.

I tried to buy one at the west end Edmonton store but the employee made me buy a game. She said they have 100 or so in the back!
