Movie vignette: Metropolis

"Rotwang Builds a New Maria"

I wanted to build a 14x14 vignette that could be photographed to look as much like the movie scene as possible--which means from other angles it doesn't work as well at all. But that's just like setting up for a movie shoot, so I think it works nicely here.

109 pieces total; ca. 2 hours to design and build

torso & legs - CMS Aztec Warrior
accessory - CMS Mad Scientist flask (at her feet)

Rotwang
hair - CMS Mad Scientist
head - CMS Black Knight
torso & legs - Ringwraith

Robot
C3PO (a nod to the fact that this robot was an inspiration for the design of C3PO)

And here's what the 14x14 vignette actually looks like. This angle gives away the tricks I used to make that one shot look as perfect as possible--like seeing a behind-the-scenes picture from the set of a movie filming.
