How popular was the Agents line?

I kinda missed most of 2008 and 2009 due to being laid up from surgery.

The bad guys are really cool and not horribly difficult to find on Bricklink.

Some of the sets are priced crazy on eBay , ESP the Volcano island.

Right now I'm working on some minis for my son and see how he likes it.

The volcano base I think was a limited edition.

I like the theme, but never bothered buying them. Popular enough to get a second year. I wish Lego would have made a show from from that theme, be fun, but probably too violent for Lego.

I never thought of buying a set. Stores normally had all the sets in stock and it even seemed to take awhile for them to completely sell the last of them. It was not even close to Ninjago empty shelf space.

You can't compare any LEGO theme to NinjaGo, NinjaGo is the most popular action theme Lego has ever had, it also had a long running commercials pretending to be a TV show.

Hey I'm trying to get all the agent bad guys together. You think brick link is the place to go? eBay is horribly expensive. Also anyone have a link to where I can get instructions to build spy clops. I'm looking at picks and he doesn't seem too complicated, I just want to get him right. Thanks beforehand to anyone that can help.

You can get pretty much any instructions from the last decade or so at Lego.com. Under customer service there is a link to download instructions. You can get the instructions for him there pretty easy. And yes, brick link will probably be the best place to find the ones you need.

I liked the set 8970 from the theme since it has a robot with light brick, just like Exo Force.



The other set I liked was the one that come with Ninjago Zane's hair, I believe it was this set,

I thought it was a pretty fun line. I didn't get enough of the sets while they were on the shelf.

I never even heard or saw anything about ths line until I stumbled on a set on Amazon.com and I think it only caught my eye was because it was 300$
Looked interesting though and nice to see LEG0 doing lines which aren't based on a particular movie, too bad they didn't do much marketing for it.

I made the mistake of giving my son an 8967 Goldtooth's Getaway (the Zane gold hairpiece set) that I found randomly on sale last year - and, of course, he loves the line and really wants more sets. I did manage to buy a NISB 8970 Robo Attack for MSRP on eBay, but mostly the secondary market prices I've seen don't seem worth it (granted, he likes sets like the Volcano Base!). Hopefully, he''ll get distracted by Chima or TMNT...

Well, I have to say, every now and then shopgoodwill.com comes through for me. I saw a listing last week there for the Agents Volcano Base set (8637) - no box but the polybags were all sealed, and the usual Goodwill disclaimer of no guarantee of completeness. After squinting at the (truly terrible) listing photos for a while, I determined that, while 1 sticker sheet seemed to be missing, I could positively identify bags 1, 2, 3 and 5 all jumbled together (and both instructions booklets were pictured). I put in a bid, picked it up for $76.00 and it arrived today - and it's absolutely complete, including both sticker sheets and bag 4. My son really wanted this set, and I'm happy to have a new-in-sealed bags one for a much more reasonable price than $300+!
