Pickertons....
Does anyone know about pickertons.com? They have some good prices on some things but rarely will pull the trigger if I don't know anything about the company
Thanks

Have not heard of this company before, but they do have some pretty cool vintage sets available. The prices are not too bad but some sets have outrageous prices. I found this mistake pretty funny: http://www.pickertons.com/lego-10214-tower-bridge/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

haha! that is hilarious. might be worth the $3 just to see if they'll ship you a tower bridge... but it'd probably be just tossing $3 at some stick notes.Legobrandon wrote:Have not heard of this company before, but they do have some pretty cool vintage sets available. Re: Pickertons....
and on closer inspection... seems a little shady. still lists the imperial flagship at 179.99, so of course i jumped to order, and sure enough when i go to check out, the price of it is shown at $350+.

Yep, I thought about posting this early last week (ran across the site last Monday or Tuesday), but after I tried putting the flagship in my cart, it redirected me to Amazon with the new price (which just so happens to be the price that's "crossed out" on pickertons.com.)

Shady but nothing compared to Brick Train Shop, king of the shadiest rip off resellers.

Wow....that was quite a scam, huh? I feel bad for all those folks.
Re: Pickertons....
I saw the Imperial Flagship a few weeks ago at $180 also. After looking into pickertons, the site takes 9 hops and ends up in Chicago on a dedicated server from SingleHop.com...web hosting for $99/mo. this in itself isn't necessarily bad, but when the host offers an SSL service to secure transactions and you don't take advantage, then I start to ask questions.
