Bricklink Question.

OK, so I'm working on a small project based on a model made in LDD. I've got my parts list from LDD manager and everything uploaded into a bricklink want list.

So I have 137 unique parts. I go to "wanted lists by shop" and I can find one seller who has 90 of these parts.

That means there are 47 unique parts that I'll have to find elsewhere. My question is... is there an easy way to edit into another list, to then see if there's one seller who has those parts? Or is there some better way to make a separation so as to be able to look up what parts I'm missing from the seller who has a majority of them?

I'm not a BrickLink expert... I'm still figuring out how to use all the features, but what I did is I bought one batch of parts and then after placing that order I was able to delete the purchased items from my wanted list. Then I looked for a store with the remaining parts. In my case, I ended up having to buy from 4 different stores to find everything I needed. I hope you have better luck!

You would prob have better luck posting on the bricklink forums. Even though the site is very outdated looking, the forums do work and the people are generally pretty quick and friendly!

Well the bad news is that there is no automatic option to remove items from your list. I think it is because Bricklink doe not want to be blamed if there is a mix up with the seller and now your carefully prepared list is gone because you placed an order. Fortunately there are ways to copy/move items from one list to another.

First, make sure you have a list to move things to. If you need to make a blank list just go to "Wanted" then "My Wanted Lists" and in the bottom right area you can type a name and click the button.

For our example let's say your main list is the "Main List" and your secondary list is "Still Need." So you'd have to make the "Still Need" list.

Now say like you said before. You have 137 unique items. The seller has 90. You're going to want a couple of tabs/windows open to reference what you order and the "My Wanted List" page.

Start by making sure only your "Main list" is showing. You can do this with the combo box above the parts section. Next, click on the link that says something like "Show All Items." This is right above the quantity of the parts.

Okay, from here you have two options. You can either copy the parts you still need or move the parts you still need to your "Still Need" list. I recommend moving them. That way you can use your main list to double check your order.

Now to move or copy an item, simply go to the little check box that is located under the heading labeled "Move." Once you check all the parts that need to be copied or moved, go to the bottom of the page. There will be a combo box that will let you select move or Copy. Below that you will need to select the list you want to move or copy to. For our example that would be "Still Need." Then click the Save Changes button and you're all ready to go for another round of shopping.

I should also note that if you have a really long list not all the items may be displayed on one page. You can try changing the "Items Displayed" option since the default is usually around 20. Or just go over the page several times before moving on to the next.

Remember, if you move an item other items lower on the list will be shifted up and change the page you are working on.

Sorry if this is a bit late as i didn't look at the date of the post but i know i can def make this easier for you if you're still looking. I have ordered many parts off bricklink and it used to drive me mad to check the parts i ordered against my wanted list. I found when i ordered the most unique parts of one seller after you complete purchase the next page shows that the order has gone through and you'll be waiting on the invoice. On this page you'll see a link that should say "show items in your wanted list" or something to that effect, clicking this will you bring you to your wanted list and only show the parts you've ordered. Go ahead and delete them in one big lump and afterwards go back into your wanted list you'll immediately see the list has halved if not quartered, then go to "by shop" and repeat the process until all parts are ordered.

That was really helpful info. The sentence you're looking for after you purchase your first order is "Items in this Order on My Wanted List"

I wanted to keep the wanted list for possible future purchases so I didn't want to delete items. Instead I created a new wanted list, called "blah purchased", and MOVED the items I'd just ordered to this new list. That way I have a running tally of what I've ordered and what's left from that thing I want to build. At the end, you just move all the items from "blah purchased" back to "blah" (your original wanted list).

*NOTE you need to make your "blah purchased" wanted list BEFORE you make your first order because it won't show up in the 'move items' part of the procedure.
