Background
I fell in love with the Atlantis theme from snapping them up on the clearance isles thanks to the lovely posters of these forums. I used some TRU bucks to get 25% off on this set when it was MSRP, so had to snap it up. I love how this theme has so many 'monsters'.

Nice looking box art, not really much to say about it. The polys are not numbered, so you just have to dump it all out, but there isn't too many so it's not too bad.

Minifigs
Minifigs.jpg
This set comes with 2 minifigs. A new yellow-suited good guy, and a new baddie. Always good to have a balance in a set! They added a nice camera for the good side and your typical trident for the baddies.

Instruction
Inst 01.jpg
The instructions are small and easy to get through. With as much stuff that comes with this set, it seems like the book should be bigger, but you'll fly through it.

Parts/Stickers
Stickers.jpg
This set has a decent Sticker sheet, which as you know, I frown upon. Fortunately from the looks of the stickers, they will be sweet looking and add nice detail to the set. There are some nice pieces in this set that you can use for other Mocs, and the colors are nice as well.

Construction

And so the fun begins.
02 Sand.jpg

04 Column.jpg
05 Chest.jpg
I decided to comment on this part as a whole as it makes more sense. I like how this theme always incorporates something to tie it back to the Atlantis theme (sunken city). That is a sweet helmet and cool column as it can move.
06 Jet.jpg

09 Jet.jpg
What is an Atlantis set, without a sled or jet included? =) Hey, I don't mind. I just think it's funny that they can't get a seat to save their lives.
10 Body.jpg
11 Body.jpg
12 Body.jpg
The start of the base of the big fishy is weird looking. It is a chubby fish, so maybe they are just giving it the support they like to build in, and that I love them for.
13 Tail.jpg
14 Tail.jpg
15 Fins.jpg
The tail of the fish is a basic tail you would build on your own. They incorporate a nice hinge so it can at least move around. They also include some side fins in the solid green (similar to other colors like black and other shades of green). I do like them though for other MOCs.
16 Teeth.jpg

19 Teeth.jpg
The teeth on this fishy are very mean. The gold tooth... really? I thought it was tacky in Transformers, and it's even worse that Lego followed suit. It does add a 'rare' piece though. I really like how they also added a rubbery piece so you can make the fish 'chomp' on something. Lego is getting much better about including extra playability features.
20 Eyes.jpg
Now we add the eyes to the fish. He looks like a nasty fish that I wouldn't mess with.

And finally we're done!

Summary

Building: 5 / 5
Appearance: 5 / 5
Pieces: 5 / 5
Value: 5 / 5
Playability: 5 / 5
Overall: 5 / 5

Building:
This was an incredibly fun set to build! It incorporated some fun in each different aspect of the set, and kept it interesting. I almost knocked it for the tail (it's so boring), but the fish looks great.

Appearance:
The set is incredible. It has great details... all the parts work together and make sense. The fish is unlike anything I've seen, and is great. The jet is unique, and I love the treasure chest.

Pieces:
2 Minifigures, a vehicle, a chest and an awesome creature. The colors are great, and the pieces can be used for other MOCs. The details are great, and there are some nice rare/uncommon pieces. I'd almost buy another set or two for parts for other Mocs.

Value:
Exactly a $0.10 PPP is already a great deal. As always, a discount makes it even better. It has great pieces for other MOCs, and rare pieces (which you can use in Mocs!) make the set great. Coupled with the great look and playability.. all for $20?

Playability:
This set comes with everything. A good guy with a vehicle. A bad guy with something to defend. A monster to cause them both grief. There is a lot of options, and moving parts which always ups the play value. This set is great on it's own, and even better with other Atlantis sets.

Overall:
This is my favorite set of the new Atlantis series (although it doesn't have that many =) It has GREAT playability, value, and I'm happy to give it a perfect score. As such, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this set to everyone... as it is pure fun. Be it your first in the Atlantis line or just an add on, it's a great addition. I have nothing but great things to say about this set. Go buy it now!

I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.
