Mystery at Toys 'R' Us

Post by brickster90 » Mon Feb 14, 2011 1:40 pm

I went there today and found a spot on the shelf for LEGO SILVER STORMTROOPER $2.99. Unfortunately, nothing was there. :( There was also a blank spot that said LEGO STAR WARS MINIFIGURE $3.99. It too was empty. This raises a question (or two): Does TRU sell Silver Stormtroopers individually, and is Lego going to start distributing Star Wars minifigs just like their Series 1-4 minifigs?

Most likely these are the Chrome Stormtrooper and Imperial Speeder Bike polybags that TRU have sold in the past, and your store is either really bad about updating the tags on their shelves or they are expecting some more of each in.

GU is correct. When my local TRU ran out of the Imperial Speeder Bike giveaway they had back during Christmas, they gave out those Chrome Stormtroopers instead. I actually purchased a few as well.

I think i have like 4 or 5 of them total. Always up for trades =)
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Sorry, kind off topic, but I have been thinking about this since the first couple CMF series came out and I REALLY hope (but at the same time doubt) they will make a Star Wars CMF Series. It could be part army building figs (Stormtroopers, Scout Troopers, Rebel Scouts, Etc..) with all new figs, variants of existing figs not available in sets... AWESOME  !

Hasbro would never let that happen, be hard to argue that LEGO isnt selling Star Wars action figures, unless they were glued to the base.
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

It would be really cool to have CMF type for starwars but lego would lose 50% of their SW set sales. I'm sure it would still be cheaper than buy hasbro figures. They are darn expensive.

Yes I completely agree with slacker but LEGO is also better and most of the kids love to play with it...and according to me lego is really one of the best and the cost price is also not much and I have purchased one from Hobby Tron and its really amazing place where you can have very amazing toys for your kids and in reasonable price...and lego is really an amazing game for kids where they put there ideas and create one and enjoy playing with it…

Toys R Us is just terrible at upgrading their tags. I can find tens of tags for sets that have been sold out for over a year and they're still there.

As for the 'Star Wars minifigures sold individually,' Hasbro is a huge block on that, as they get all the action figure merchandising...that said, MINIFIGURES ARE NOT ACTION FIGURES HASBRO!

Playing with LEGO when I can. Where does the time go?
