Background
So I was interested in the Architecture theme for a while, never knowing where to find them (other than online) until recently at Barnes and Nobles. Thanks to this website's fabulous followers I was able to nab this great set at 50% off! I had just recently visited Rockefeller Center in NY a few months ago, and was the spark that got me back into Lego, so of course I had to have this set.
Nice crisp box as all the others. No alternate builds, only different schematics. Almost doesn't look like Lego.
As with all the boxes of this theme, a nice message as you open the box.
Minifigs
There are no Minifigs in this set of course. It is an Architectural site, themed after the real-deal, so minifigs just don't work with this set.
Instruction
The instructions have a nice soft binding, very professional. The instructions also have a red border that surrounds the pieces it's changing to easily keep track of what your adding. The pages before the actual instructions give historical information and facts about the center, as well as some at the back.
Parts/Stickers
The only unique part of this set is the pre-printed name-plate. Other than that, the pieces are not unique, but you get a lot of small, brown smooth pieces, which is awesome for alternate builds. No stickers! Love this theme not having any where they could have easily made the name plate one.

Construction
And here we go.
The base is awesome. Very sturdy, and the nice smooth black edge border with the name plate is a nice touch. This is not just one building, but a group of buildings.
Tower 1 complete, with the edges of others prepared.
Tower 2 complete
The main building of the Rockefeller Center. You can go all the way to the top and look out across all of New York City. I recommend going there during the summer as it was wicked cold in October. There is a Lego store at the bottom of the center ;) But beware, they charge a 'tax'.

Building: Building this set was really fun. There are lots of buildings to make, and it is very stable. You don't have to put many 1x1's together, so it keeps the 'pain' at a minimum. You could even take turns and have some fun.
Appearance: I think the set is awesome, but I guess I am very partial to this theme. I like how accurate it represents the original. I like that I could display it at work and people would like it.
Pieces: Although this set only has 1 unique piece, it has a lot of small brown pieces, which are not readily available in other sets, especially slender smooth pieces. The ability to use them in other MOC's and number of them gives it a high piece score.
Value: The set has a high PPP which usually kills a score, but the overall look and sheer 'awesome' factor gives it a higher value. I also understand they probably get killed for licensing fees for it. Get a discount and it's definitely worth it.
Playability: This is the only problem with this set. There is no playability other than having it part of a City, but even with this set I don't know...I had to give it at least a 1, since it's really a display set.
Overall: I think this set is great! The PPP is high which generally turns me off about it, but since I got a great deal, that always overcomes that problem :D It also has great possibility for reuse of it's pieces. The look is great, and since almost everyone in the world knows New York City, everyone can identify this set. This set is made for the older Lego fans, but can be appreciated by anyone. I highly recommend picking up this set (get it on discount of course).
