Walmarts are selling 10697-1: XXXL Box for $40. I believe this is a black friday / holiday season event. I believe they had a similar one last year for a 1600 pc set.
Great selection of parts and colours.

I picked one up at my local Walmart, but I am hearing that they are selling out quickly across Canada.
Also available on line.

Thanks for the tip!
My local Walmart didn't have any, but I got to a second store this evening and they had a few. Also a Duplo box (~200 parts) for $40.

This set was not supposed to get in store before tomorrow morning, as part of the flyer special on the Black Friday deal. At least in Quebec.
So you better get there tomorrow morning if you want to pick a few.

Many people on Kijiji in Montreal trying to sell them between $100 & $80 ...
The funny thing that someone posted an add on Kijiji stating that this can be found on Walmart for $40+tax
:)

Beat me to it,
Just ordered 1 for myself and one for a friend of mine who went to 3 different walmarts and was unable to buy one for his son.
People seem to be hoarding them based on what i am seeing on other forums... sad..

They're still available, but maybe not for long. I just ordered 16 (in addition to the 4 that I picked up on Monday at a store that had them out early)...

Yes, I'll use them to build a MOC. I'm not sure what yet, but they are definitely for building, not for resale. It's going to take me some time to figure out how to use all of these different colours.

Unrelated to the "deal" part ... I really like how this set is bagged -- by colour group. I don't know if that's typical for these Classic sets, but I think it's great. A bag of purples, a bag of blues, a bag of tans/browns... 9 bags total.
