New Sydney Opera House Lego set?

Post by toystest » Thu Jul 29, 2010 2:02 pm

One of the blogs I follow has a post about an interview with Andy Lown. in the interview he mentions the following:
For example Lego who we are now working with to create a Sydney Opera House set. They’ve recently completed the Taj Mahal, which I believe is a 6000-piece Lego set, and they believe this could be bigger.
You can see the full article here.

more then 6000 pieces, that almost seems like too many. However I would probably buy this set :D

Interesting. Lego is really pushing their aim at AFOLS who can afford to spend hundreds of bucks on a set.

If LEGO keeps making more and more big sets like this I'm gonna go broke. :(

Tell me about it. I wish they would do some smaller ones at a $20 or $30 range. I miss out on some great sets that aren't in my budget ever. Period.

I can probably get around 2 100+$ sets a year. one around X-mas and one around my birthday. Well actually 3, because my wife collects the modular buildings so she gets one for her birthday :D

I have actually quit other hobbies to put away more money for larger Lego sets. I don't mind, but I would like to get back to other stuff if they put out more inexpensive but well made small ones as well.
