Lego Store Online Sales

Hi, New here to the lego forum. I've recently started collecting city lego stuff for my son and myself of course. I noticed the Lego store online has a bunch of city lego sets for half price but everything is of course sold out.

Is there a specific time of year that they put these sales on? or is there a secret way of knowing when these sales start so I can get in on them before they are sold out?

There's no secret, but there are 2 major sales events that I look forward to. May 4th for Star Wars and December 26th for the end of year sale. Items do go on sale periodically throughout the year, so I would suggest keeping an eye out or at the very least watching this site for announcements.

As for the city sets that you're referring to, it's pretty likely they went to 50% with no online stock. A lot of the sets go on sale, but never end up on the sales and deals page because there is no stock. I think the pricing exists so that you can get them at your local Lego store (if they have stock).

For City sets, your best bet is to watch this forum for deals being posted. Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk have deals with some frequency. Also keep an eye on Costco each year as Christmas approaches. For the big stuff like modulars, the best time last year seemed to be the VIP Black Friday sale, which was triple VIP points. Make sure you sign up for VIP membership on the Lego Store site.
