YES! I was very happy to finally add one to my collection. I was going to grab a second copy, but I passed a pre-BF blu-ray display on my way to the toy aisle and opted for copies of The Avengers and Brave instead.

Wal-Mart did a price match for 2 podracer sets. One for me and one for my nephew for Christmas. It took about 3 minutes total for the transaction with one manager approving the sale and another manager coming over wanting to know what store it was from so they could do a price match later on in the da and buy one for their son for Christmas.

I also picked up the zombie and anakin set off of Target's website using the $5 coupon. Day one of Black Friday week is off to a good start!

Wal-Mart did a price match, and I was lucky to have a new person at TRU do the same thing for 3 sets. :)

I've just come back from my local Target (Glendale CA) and I didn't even need the printed ad for the Starwars set. It automatically rang up at $30.00 .. The only Target in the area that had it too... From 7 targets.. :-D

went to TRU to try to get a patch match. They had 8-12 podracers in stock, all of which were so dusty and virtually untouched for months on shelves.
I took 4 of the dusty boxes to the register where I was proceeded to get treated like a common criminal and scoffed at by the employees. They basically laughed at me, the CSM and manager both, making up excuse after excuse as to why they won't honor the deal.

Overall it was one of the most humiliating experiences I've ever had at a retail store.

Even after I showed them reciepts for $30 podracers (from target and Walmart) they still were extremely negative.

With that said, Im really glad some of you had better customer service experience with TRU getting them to price match!

Lets hope this first year of pricematching between retailers gets better.

TRU clearly hasn't trained staff enough concerning pricematching and its only going to bite them back at a later date with bad publicity.

I aint going to dwell on it, meh.

but oh wells, peace everybody, happy Turkey day!

I was able to get my local WM to price match the podracers(X4) after a 45 minute ordeal. They tried coming up with every excuse possible on why they shouldn't but in the end my patience prevailed.

Another upset experience shopping from TRUs! But thank you for your hard work to ground TRUs. Their customer service was notorious.

I hope more members would go to TRUs for price match, and the more money TRUs lose.

Not that it would do much good, but I would email TRU corporate and let them know your experience.

I had trouble with a free shipping deal at Target.com and was treated similarly on the phone. They kept telling me to call back in 30 min to 1 hour while it was processing, they would take a note in my ticket, and then they would correct the shipping. Each time I called back, it was like starting over. I asked for their manager and asked them to take a note and just take care of it in 30 min, "No, you have to call back". Ugh, very frustrating... It was finally corrected, but it took almost 2 hrs of my time. Not worth the $6, but I had too much time invested to let it go. Yes, the support folks sounded like they were from India. I've had similar experiences with Dell too.

I emailed Target corporate, but they basically apologized and that's it.

Every place I've tried to price match, Target, Wal-Mart & TRU. They always throw a fit when it's a very large amount. The City Mine from WalMart, now the Podracers from Target. They've all flat out say they won't do it b/c it's such a drastic amount. We're talking more than 50% off. I'm not suprrised they won't honor it or at least make you go through hopes. It's just upsetting when they'll gladly match 10-20% off, but more than 50% "It must be wrong" is a common phrase. Annoying.

I picked up a rain-check for the Zombies this morning, and it was marked as NCF (no carry forward) on the receipt. Not a huge surprise, as its a 'halloween' set. But this is a target exclusive. So once its off the shelves at Target, the only place to get one at MSRP (or less) will be target.com, LS@H or your local lego store. Just an FYI.

TRU sucks and customer service has no clue how to do anything. I am currently having problems with my rewards points. It has been 2 weeks and they have not done anything. One of my calls resulted in me being transferred to 5 different employees.

This is probably because whenever it is more than 50% off, it was because it was wrong, as in misprint, as in you really shouldn't expect the retailer to roll over because another another store made a mistake. To top it off, how can someone be annoyed that that they would take such a stand? Would you roll over if you were selling these things yourself? I don't get it, nor do I think anger against the retailers is warranted in this case.

People had the same issue with the mine set sold by Walmart for $40 a few weeks back and that wasn't a misprint. The sets scanned at that price, it was advertised online AND print at that price and the website sold the sets for that price.

TRU still refused to price match and flat out lied about receiving emails that it was a mistake.

Went to Tru, and they didn't price-match, said Corporate told them to not price match. Since they said corporate I wasn't going to go through the hassle. All I hope now is Tru goes out of business, they treat their customer like crap.

Sadly no, they had just one left that had the $85.00 or so, sale sign on it. I actually had the ad with me just in case, but the guy that rang me up in the electronics dept said that he knew about it already. I guess someone was kind enough to leave at least one behind. Not sure if they'll be getting anymore.
