2012 LEGO Super Heroes Marvel (Summer)
Re: 2012 LEGO Super Heroes Marvel (Summer)
Maybe. It just seems weird that they'd put Loki in practically every Avengers set and then leave out Nick Fury. They could have thrown him in the Captain Ameirca set or something. I mean they covered everyone else except minor Shiled charcters like Caulson and Hill. So maybe they'll release some kind of Shield Helicarrier set later (and maybe even combine with the Hulk break out one) that has Fury and maybe some Shield agents?
I just don't want to have to fight SDCC lines for the chance to win Fury. If anything, he should have been the upcoming promo instead of the comic Hulk if they don't currently have a plan for him.

Re: 2012 LEGO Super Heroes Marvel (Summer)
Managed to get the Cap, Wolverine, and Hulk sets this weekend.
The Cap set is crap like most of the cheapie sets, but its not bad to get Cap and 2 army builders.
The Wolverine set is awesome. The way they did Wolverine's claws isn't the best they could have come up with, but it works. Little disapointed they didn't have a masked head for Wolverine though. The unmasked head is great though, but feels like they only went that route because they had the mold for the hair already. Magneto and Deapool are sweet. I just wish Magneto had a blue bubble or something to float in besides that little disc. And the copter is great for the price. Probably the best bang for you buck set.
The Hulk set is nice. I wish Hulk hat a little more articulation (only shoulders and hands). Head movement at the least would have been nice. But he is still awesome. I love that he can hold other figures upsidedown by the legs :lol Loki is nice, but I swear his head is the same as Lex Luthor. As a result, he has no alternate expression which is weak since the helm covers the back of his head. Thor's hair is just too light IMO. I ordred a tan colored hair piece to fix this, but its more comic colored than what Hemsworth has. Hawkeye's hair is all wrong. Not even close to the same style. They really needed to create a new mold for his hair IMO. His hair is combed forward and up in the front in the film, not slicked back like they gave him.
Not sure what is up with the set's title though. It would have been better to call it Loki's Helicarrier Escape instead of Hulk, since he's not locked up in the slightest or have any features indicating as such. Loki's the one behind the glass!
And the two chairs at the top of this set make me feel we missed out on getting some SHIELD agents or Fury thrown in this set. I don't think Thor would sit at a computer, Hulk can't, Loki's locked up, and Hawkeye has a jet to set it so someone is missing.
I had a heck of a time finding these so I just went ahead and ordered the last 2 sets (until they come up with that Spidey set, hopefully in time for the May Hulk promo) and am unpatiently awaiting their arrival.

Thanks. Nobody else here seems to have them yet, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on them. I just want to say that I love them, despite those negatives I mentioned. They are fairly minor nits to pick. These recent Superheroes have been some of Lego's best work. They got me back into Legos!soulless_minion wrote:Thanks for the nice mini reviews Buttmunch.
From what I can tell, that Wolverine set is flying off the shelves than the rest. So if you see it, even at TRU, I'd suggest picking it up! I think the fact its the only comic based set in the wave of movie sets is making int he most popular. Plus its got Wolverine and Deapool!
Anyone know anything on the Ultimate Spider-man set? Seems weird they'd show off the figures from that set but not show us anything else. Maybe they are waiting for a specific episode of the show to air?

Me too! I am a huge movie fan, and April is really lacking in interesting releases. Can't wait for May kicking off with Avengers!BrickGarurumon wrote:Who's going to see the upcoming Avengers movie? I am.

So I ordered the sets I didn't find at TRU from Lego shop this weekend and they still haven't shipped. This is my first order through them directly. Is this normal? I'm used to things shipping the next day so I'm really annoyed they haven't even shipped yet, let alone arrived!
By the way, since it hasn't been posted yet, Sideshow Collectibles now has the Marvel sets up for pre-order with a May release date.

Re: 2012 LEGO Super Heroes Marvel (Summer)
It takes them a day or two to actually ship the order. After that, it takes about a week to get delivered to you if you picked the standard shipping option.Buttmunch wrote:So I ordered the sets I didn't find at TRU from Lego shop this weekend and they still haven't shipped. Re: 2012 LEGO Super Heroes Marvel (Summer)
Thanks for the info! That really sucks though!
I want the rest of these NOW!
Re: 2012 LEGO Super Heroes Marvel (Summer)
Got my sets last Friday from Lego. Much quicker than I thought. Only about 2 days after getting my shipping notice on Wed!
Just a little something I've been putting together the last week since I got my sets. I really wish Lego would start including more head options with the figure. The alternate expressions was a great improvement... 10 years ago. I want them to start throwing in hair and even heads now too!

I just had to fix Thor's ultra blonde hair. It came comic Thor yellow, not the dirty blone color Hemsworth has.

I now have all these, except the Quinjet one, waiting to see it I can get it a bit cheaper as I did with the Hulk set, the smaller 3 I didn't mind paying full price. All great stuff, but trying to get a few more Chitauri to balance the numbers out a bit :) Just wish the Fury minifig was available somehow, along with Coulson, Hill, some random SHIELD agents perhaps, and the Chitauri's leviathan ship! Even Dr Selvig would be a nice addition to a Stark tower roof set. Let's hope some of these come to fruition and the future films bring us some other nice sets too.
Watched the movie yesterday, perfect amazing Jossy film, though it took me a little while to realise the character in the mid-credits scene

Re: 2012 LEGO Super Heroes Marvel (Summer)
Yesterday I went to Toys R Us with my mom to buy the either the Wolverine's Chopper Showdown set or the Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape set, but it didn't have it there. All they had were the Ultrabuild sets (Which reminds me of Bionicle & Hero Factory), Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout (Which I am getting for my upcoming 18th birthday), and they had the Quinjet Aerial Battle set. They did not have Wolverine's Chopper Showdown OR Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape. They also did not have that Ultimate Spider-Man set either.

Same here, I have them all but the quinjet, thinking about purchasing it from LEGO S@H when they do the hulk minifig with $50 purchase promotion!soulless_minion wrote:I now have all these, except the Quinjet one, waiting to see it I can get it a bit cheaper as I did with the Hulk set, the smaller 3 I didn't mind paying full price. They haven't even revealed the Spider-man set, so nobody is going to have it for a while.BrickGarurumon wrote:Yesterday I went to Toys R Us with my mom to buy the either the Wolverine's Chopper Showdown set or the Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape set, but it didn't have it there. The X-men set seems to be the best seller as its the only comic based set and the others are strictly movie Avengers, which isn't everyone's cup of tea. I like them all though

Re: 2012 LEGO Super Heroes Marvel (Summer)
I saw the movie last night, and I found Loki's spear/staff from LEGO set is totally different from the one in the movie. TLG was so lazy to make a new mold for it.
There were many complains for Hawkey's minifigure hair piece. IMO, it could be fixed by replacing it with Sleepyhead's hair piece from CMF series 6.
By the way, the movie is better than I expected. Since the announcement of making the movie of Avengers, I was so worried that it turned out like another "Batman & Robin at 1997" movie. In here, I could tell you that it was not. So, don't miss it and don't wait for Blu-ray/DVD. For anyone who don't like 3-D feature, you could save few bucks for seeing this movie at 2-D version.
