Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Wow, that is a steal! I was happy picking up a second of that set at $25, but for $2, wow!
Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Picked up an Alien Conquest Earth Defense HQ for $30 after tax at Barnes and Noble today (50% clearance+10% membership+30% kids club coupon). I'm not even into AC but at that insane discounted price I'd get into Spongebob...oh wait nevermind I wouldn't go that far lol

Epic Dragon Battle for $95
Technic 4x4 Crawler $160 + freebie vintage minifig set

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Quite new to the community, but do Brick Bags count for this? A few weeks ago I went to our local Lego Store and explained I was looking for some additional sets with wheels for my 5yo son who I've been transitioning away from Duplos for the past few months.
The clerk points out 7347, which was $80 bucks, and asks me if that would work. I told him it looked sweet, but probably too advanced... and it cost $80. Turns out they had a complete set in two brick bags in the back, with manuals... just no box.
So... $16.00 for 7347. We just started putting together the Sports Car last night and all the pieces have been there... thus far.

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
I think they count, but LEGO just changed their policy and decided that they will no longer do grab bags. There is a big discussion on this on the brickset forums, and LEGO commented in the thread so this is confirmed, although horrible news.
Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Man, sucks that they're no longer doing grab bags...
I just came in here to say they still have CMFs7 at the TRU in Times Square. I popped in there today on a whim after striking out at the Rockefeller Center LEGO Store (they only have s8 out now). I grabbed another three Galaxy Patrol (doubling my collection). I was actually pleasantly surprised that they were only $3.19 there, which is better than the $3.50 they're charging at the NYC LEGO Store. I might have to grab some more, I'd love a platoon of them...

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Just picked up the last HP Knight Bus off a Walmart shelf for 1 dollar. The best deal I've found all year. Woo woo.

Found two Hogwarts Games at at Target for $10 each. I was incredibly surprised, as I was going to head to TRU to debate about getting one with the sale.

Woo-hoo!!! Just cracked open an auction lot off eBay, listing had no set numbers or instructions, but so far I've come across five of the figures from 7785-Arkham: Scarecrow, Ivy, Nightwing, Riddler, and one of the guards.
For $77 shipped, even if that's all I get out of it, I'm still ahead of what it would cost for the minifigs themselves!
This definitely makes up for the last lot I won which ended up being kind of a stinker...

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
You are a brave soul to buy lots off Ebay... too hard to find deals that aren't resellers who've already picked all the good parts/minifigs or the Collectors wanting MSRP for their thousand dollar lots.
Nice pickup!
Nice pickup!
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Picked this up on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUGE-LOT-OF-LEG ... 0796603560
So far I've identified parts from 18 sets from the pics. I have no idea what the orange and blue thing is though in one of the pics.
Part count wise it will still be a steal at $77, but what looks to be most of a QAR, a couple of city sets, the Alien Invasion set. Can't wait to get it and start sorting out what minifigs are in there.
