Got the new LEGO catalog today and the Fire Brigade, GE as well as Pet Shop are listed in it. So is the Tower Bridge. Based on this I don't think these sets will be discontinued anytime soon (at least not after Christmas - so no sale). Surprising since FB has been around for a while... just wanted to share.

Fire Brigade will likely stick around until just before the next modular hits the streets. Is that April-ish? Also - the problems they had with Fire Bridage packing will likely cause them to give it more time on the shelves too - i think they had to do another run of them.
But...
I just saw the Alien Conquest commercial on TV, and figure that for many of these themes, they advertise them right up until the moment they pull the plug, maybe even a bit longer.
Who knows - fun to guess though!

Don't be too excited or you will be disappointed. According to last year experience, I believe deal from in-store will usually be better than on-line.Legobrandon wrote:Cannot wait until Ice posts the deals!

I received my catalogue the other day. Take note that I'm making 'guess-timates' on the US prices, as my catalogue only lists Canadian prices.UnknownUser wrote:Any word on the new SW sets (and piece/price count for exclusives)?
9494 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor - 300 pieces/$49.99 CDN MSRP (likely $39.99 US)
9492 TIE Fighter - 413 pieces/$69.99 CDN ($54.99 US?)
9493 X-Wing Starfighter - 560 pieces/$74.99 CDN ($59.99 US?)
9495 Gold Leader's Y-Wing Starfighter - 458 pieces/$64.99 ($49.99 US?)
*All new Star Wars sets will be available for pre-order beginning 1/1, and will be available to ship 1/30.
** "FREE exclusive poster with pre-order of any NEW LEGO Star Wars set! (fine print: "Exclusive poster is free with pre-order of items 9488, 9489, 9490, 9491, 9492, 9493, 9494, 9495, 9674, 9675, and 9676 only.)
The front of the poster features artwork of the TIE Fighter and X-Wing Fighter (which I believe is the same as their respective boxart). The back of the poster is a gallery of the 2012 Star Wars minifigs.

Tie fighter, which comes with 3 batttle pack type minifigures and a droid, is too expensive. Crazy markup. OMG, one other Tie Defender like productunclephn wrote: I received my catalogue the other day. Take note that I'm making 'guess-timates' on the US prices, as my catalogue only lists Canadian prices.

Thanks for the info. I saw the US prices on another website and they actually matched your estimates.unclephn wrote: I received my catalogue the other day. Take note that I'm making 'guess-timates' on the US prices, as my catalogue only lists Canadian prices.
$55 USD/$70 CAD for the TIE fighter and $40 USD/$50 CAD for the JSF is just
EDIT: Is 9440 and 9441 on the catalog as well, and is the rumored price $20 each?

Re: [US/CA] LEGOShop Boxing Day 2011 LEGO Deals
No, those two sets weren't featured in the catalog. I guess they wanted to focus more on the higher priced sets. Although, they did list the Series 1 planet sets, but we've have the info on those for weeks already. 9490 and 9491 were only mentioned in the fine print I quoted. $20 US sounds about right, though. I'd be pretty upset if they end up being higher than that!UnknownUser wrote:EDIT: Is 9440 and 9441 on the catalog as well, and is the rumored price $20 each?

YMMV, here is what is said on other forums about possible sales candidates:
Post is near the end about a discussion someone had with a store manager:

Re: [US/CA] LEGOShop Boxing Day 2011 LEGO Deals
Huh, looks like there will be sets not available online that will be discounted in store. I know mine has TONS of MMVs and Endors...
Also, more info on the sales: http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion ... sale-begin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Basically it looks like it could be YMMV for stores.

I got all happy about the MMV going on sale, then I read that it was not on the list.

Re: [US/CA] LEGOShop Boxing Day 2011 LEGO Deals
i have the US January 2012 catalog and I can confirm the anakin's JSF is $40, tie fighter is $55, x-wing $60, y-wing $50.UnknownUser wrote:Thanks for the info. also the UCS Death star is still available, same with creator fire brigade and grand emporium.
9440: you should name the set instead of numbers. i had to look it up to know what it was. venomari shrine is listed at $6.99. 9441: kai's cycle is listed at $14.99.
Re: [US/CA] LEGOShop Boxing Day 2011 LEGO Deals
It was YMMV last year, too. I went to two stores, one with significantly more sets marked off (including non-discontinued Technic and Racers for 50% off) than the other.UnknownUser wrote:Huh, looks like there will be sets not available online that will be discounted in store. I'm suprised Fire Brigade will stick around a bit longer. Last year, Green Grocer was gone after Christmas.harry99 wrote:Got the new LEGO catalog today and the Fire Brigade, GE as well as Pet Shop are listed in it. So is the Tower Bridge. The sale has started .. in my head .. dreaming of sugar plums, LEGO, and all that stuff ..
Will see shortly what LEGO has created to drain our wallets even more but until then, enjoy XMAS day!

This will be underwhelming if the sale is the same as UK.

Yep. UK sale list/prices is being shared around, and it's VERY underwhelming. Not great discounts, and many sets I assumed would be on the list, aren't.
Not a big deal, it has been a great season for LEGO Sales. But last year did set a fun expectation to be able to walk into a LEGO Store and build a stack of purchases!
