BrickLink sold
Re: BrickLink sold
I'm worried they will increase fees but the current admin is saying they won't which I guess translates to they won't immediately increase fees.
ebay etc: you know exactly how much to charge for shipping as a seller because you sell in predetermined lots which can be weighed ahead of time whereas on bricklink you have no idea what a buyer is going to order so obviously one has to take a different approach. Basic concept which has been discussed oh idk 5,000 times on the bl forums hehehe. I slap a table with ounces on the left and price on the right on my stores terms page and have never had any complaints about costs in 4 years.
I also remind potential Buyers to keep in mind that the bricklink cart weight does not include packaging weight. Bubble mailers weight an ounce or two depending on size and the boxes I use start at around 4 ounces. If a buyer can't bother to read the terms page and passes me by because they can't grasp the concept then I could care less. It's a casual hobby for a lot of users and hopefully the future changes don't wreck that laid back atmosphere!

Even with the current state of Bricklink, it is an amazing site. I do not know any other site that has such a sophisticated interface on a functional level. It was never a pretty site, but it has amazing features. I'm really amazed when a builder creates something that takes 100's of special pieces and not even Bricklink could have supplied them all with past sales or current in stock quantities (all sellers combined).

Maybe we should start a thread here letting members know about both awesome sellersBlacknight wrote:They need to crack down on the special treatment that some power sellers got when it comes to assigning and receiving negative feedback.

I like that. I made my first 3 orders this week. It would have been to good to know which ones process things quickly (like a business) and which ones take a week to get around to sending an invoice (like a hobbyist).DarthPaka wrote: Maybe we should start a thread here letting members know about both awesome sellersand shady seller (talking about you Countrybliss).

^Actually, quite a few of the larger BL stores list wait times of several days or up to a week, due to the sheer volume on incoming orders I assume. So there is the chance for the hobbyist to earn repeat buyers based on the speed of their order turn around.

I didn't think of it like that, but that makes perfect sense. Regardless, I still like the idea of the thread.brickarmor wrote:^Actually, quite a few of the larger BL stores list wait times of several days or up to a week, due to the sheer volume on incoming orders I assume.
