This is lame and disappointing. Now I will have to wait for a Pirates of the Caribbean sale.

Did anyone get an order shipped, or did they cancel all of these? (Mine was cancelled)

Just saw that B&N have re-listed all of the PotC sets online as "Special Order: Ships 3 - 5 weeks". Here's a link to 4192 Fountain of Youth...

I don't know why the couldn't give us an option to delay our pre-orders. Weak. Thank you very much for the heads-up though. Time to go redeem my gift card + former groupon (now a gift card also).

Edit: Order placed for one copy of QAR. Let's see them screw me over 3-5 weeks from now.

That sounds ridiculous. Anyway, TRU has 20% off their PotC sets, which are marked up but the RewardsRUs rewards are out if you are a member so you might get some additional $s off. It ends up being about 12% off MSRP.

The sale is good through Saturday 5/21, in-store and on-line I believe.

You're basically right for most people, but not my case. The TRU sale price for QAR is $106. The B&N price is $120, so that's a $14 difference at this moment. (Both places charge sales tax and free shipping, so that's essentially a wash.)

The reason I'm buying from B&N is because I was counting on that preorder, for which I bought a $100 gift card with accrued credit card points (100-dollar gift cards being the most cost-effective use for the citi rewards points), and then I also got a $20 groupon / gift card. This was all for my anticipated pre-order of QAR (and the cabin set). But since they left me high and dry, I have to use up these gift cards, so it kind of makes it more worth it.

I almost never buy anything from B&N, so I don't want to sit on the gift cards. The only other use I can imagine for them would be to wait until christmas and turn them into gift card gifts; but the catch there is that they won't let me turn the $20 groupon gift card into another gift card. So yeah it's all convoluted and screwed up. It's better for me to cash out these gift cards and wash my hands of this fiasco. I don't think I'll ever buy anything from B&N again, certainly not a preorder. Unless I see a 25+% off lego sale or something, which doesn't really happen with them.

Okay I'm going to stop venting about this now, lol.

Yeah I agree you have a right to be annoyed. Mantisking posted a F&F link which can get you 20% off in-store. BUT I have not idea if it works on Lego. It might be worth it to look into if you can get to a B&M B&N store (how's that for acronymns?)

I normally am not a B&N shopper either, just for those crazy 50% off coupons they had in March. I'm still a Borders girl at heart when it comes to books, although that might be ending too as well!

Zeya - I have the 20% off coupon and although I have not tried it in-store yet, it appears that it might work on Lego IN-STORE. Apparently have you have to send the link to 5 people or post it on Facebook to get 20% (otherwise it is only 10% off). Give it a try and see if you can use the giftcard that way.

There is also a 15% off Coupon B&N mailed out good through May 29... code V3C7X9C for BN.Com, but not sure if it will work on Lego.

Doesn't say anything about no Toys or Lego, so It SHOULD work, but if it doesn't, I've never had an issue getting the discounts on Lego in store.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.
