For certain values of near. :ugeek:
Brick & Blue wrote:when the series is supposed to come in. He said they said it would be August, but they don't have them in the back, so that's out. Now he is hearing early-mid September.
They've always been conservative in their estimates as to when things are coming out at that store.

You and me both brother.

Originally I only wanted multiples of 2 or 3... now I'm kinda liking a few more =)
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Just remember, they seem to change the distribution during the runs, several times it seems.

I wish that there were more dwarves and gladiators per box.

Once again, other than Royal gaurds, they put the ones suitable for army builders as the low number figures. When will they learn, this only helps the secondary market. If they put the "boring" figure as one per box, supply and demand would help their sales. Even with as limited as series one was, there were partly filled boxes at TRU with only Demo Dummies and Divers months later.

Sweet. Got these todays at Fry's. $2.99. I felt them up and it was pretty easy. Grab extras of a few and looking at the list it coincidence (or not) that all the extras I grabbed were the short-packed ones.

Does anyone think that the boxes that the figures come in will be worth anything? I like them for general storage for figures in packages and out. The box art is nice, anyone think they have any collectible value, you only get one for every 60 figures...

Anyone else notice the problem with this list on lego S@H?
Collect every mystery minifigure in the hot new Series 5!
With 16 all-new, special minifigures in Series 5, you can grow your LEGO® minifigure collection instantly! Which one will you get when you open the mystery bag? Each minifigure comes in a sealed mystery bag, so you never know which minifigure you might get. Each character has its own special accessories, display plate and collector’s leaflet. Inspired by movies, sports, history and just everyday life, this collection includes: Fitness Instructor, Flamenco Dancer, Lizard Man, Lumberjack, Gladiator, Small Clown, Egyptian Queen, Evil Dwarf, Boxer, Ice Fisherman, Jungle Boy, Graduate, Royal Guard, Cave Woman, Detective, and Gangster! Collect all 16!
Was this the original list and they changed it and put in Zoo Keeper and Snowboarder instead?

Yeah, I saw that. I bet they changed it and the message never got through to the web developers.

I believe they will be. They will be somewhat 'rare' just because most people DON'T keep those particular boxes or the stores keeps em and tosses em. I agree, I keep my unopened CMF 1-5 in the boxes I have. The fact they have nice artwork I think will help make them desired in the future. No telling though. I wouldn't bank on making a forture, but i would venture to say you could prolly get a few bucks for them in the future.... I have 2 CMF4 boxes, and a CMF5, so I'm right there with ya =)

I have two box per series. Mainly for storage and not resale. They are pretty easy to get and I have seen on ebay for $10.

Has anyone been able to find a bump codes sheet?

I haven't really looked because it really is just easier to feel around and identify a unique part, this series seems easier than others. Almost all of the S5 have a piece that identifies it.

First, let me say that I've read they are mixing up the dot codes. I think there may be 4 different dot codes per figure, with some figs sharing a code, if that makes sense. So in short, you can't 100% count on it.

That being said, I used this to help me ID:
http://blog.betterthantomorrow.com/2011 ... eel-guide/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you get a big batch of packets (I had 60 from an online TRU order), you can reasonably expect that all of a certain fig have the same dot code. So if you aren't sure if your fig is a zookeeper, but you've already identified a couple zookeepers, look at the known packets' dot code and see if your unknown matches that dot code. And then you'll know "oh this is almost certainly another zoo keeper".

All-in-all I recommend going on 95% feeling method and maybe 5% dots as a tie-breaker. Hope this makes sense.

It really is easier (and faster) to just feel the packs. Every minifig in this series has that one piece that's very distinguishable from all the others (ie. Lizard Man's tail, Gladiator's helmet). I was able to pick out an entire set quick enough to avoid any weird stares from Walmart employees lol.

I agree. I only use the dots anymore as a 'quick reference'. The Viking has a distinguishable dot pattern, so easier to fly through a box to search for the dot pattern, then feel it to ensure the dot code wasn't swapped with the batch I was searching.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.
