Beware of fakes

Post by grommom » Fri Nov 13, 2015 3:54 pm

I've bought from goodwill a few times but this has me rethinking it as a source for minifigures http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/19 ... 03507.html
These are clearly fake as I've never seen factory sealed minifigures with the hands and legs separate, plus one face that you see is clearly off looking.

It's also a shame that my son received a fake lego minifigure in a trade at legoland. It looked fine but later at home i could tell it was of lower quality and i could not find lego written in any of the usual spots. I tried looking the guy up and while it said octan, it was different than the one i could see on bricklink. I guess it's buyer and trader beware.

In more fun news we traded for what looks like a precursor to the minifigure, i looked it up and while not worth much it was neat to find such an old minifigure.
