Walgreens and should-be-clearance items
I've noticed at several Walgreen's in my area (Phoenix) they have various older Legos that should be cleared out at some point. Almost always, they have the wrong tag with them on the shelf as well.
Two things that seem to be at all of them are Series 2 of the Friends animals foil pack and Series 12 of the minifigs. Anyone had luck getting these (or others) at a decent price?

Saw the freinds at one store for 1.49
Re: Walgreens and should-be-clearance items
Walgreens is home to very, very old toys. Recently my son was thrilled to pay MSRP for a Nerf gun that was discontinued 7 years ago. The website is inaccurate for finding Lego stock in stores though.
Re: Walgreens and should-be-clearance items
found the death star troopers on clearance for 3.25 today
Re: Walgreens and should-be-clearance items
The lack of price scanners at Walgreens makes this much worse. You know things are likely to be tagged/priced wrong, but I have to decide how annoying I'm willing to be to make them check each one.
Re: Walgreens and should-be-clearance items
Had a cool manager at the one I randomly stopped by. Asked to price check a starwars set, scanned full price he said can give me half off!! $11 for at-rt!!!

I did find a LEGO Friend Series 6 Animal Set at Walgreens in Dallas area a couple weeks ago. It was full price but I had never seen these in any USA store....

My Walgreens has had 2-3 scanners in the furthest back row for about 10 years now.nateeide wrote:The lack of price scanners at Walgreens makes this much worse. You know things are likely to be tagged/priced wrong, but I have to decide how annoying I'm willing to be to make them check each one.

I've not seen them anywhere but Walgreens but are they that hard to find? I've seen the seal twice, the tiger once, and the third one once.

Series 6 was never released in the USA, so yep they are rare.videriant wrote:I've not seen them anywhere but Walgreens but are they that hard to find? I've seen the seal twice, the tiger once, and the third one once.

Thanks didn't know they weren't getting a wider US release so I kept passing not them since they were $5.99, will grab the seal and panda on my text trip to walgreens.Brick & Blue wrote:Series 6 was never released in the USA, so yep they are rare.videriant wrote:I've not seen them anywhere but Walgreens but are they that hard to find? Darn, $6. They should only be $4. I have no clue if they are getting a wider release, but they were released over a year ago in other countries and should have came out the end of last year in the USA. Now they have been released by the little box sets with the little bunnies, horse and dog.poniemomo wrote:Thanks didn't know they weren't getting a wider US release so I kept passing not them since they were $5.99, will grab the seal and panda on my text trip to walgreens.Brick & Blue wrote:Series 6 was never released in the USA, so yep they are rare.videriant wrote:I've not seen them anywhere but Walgreens but are they that hard to find? Re: Walgreens and should-be-clearance items
I have found the lioness and panda bear bags at different Walgreens. One was 4.99 and one was 5.79. The hanging tag is labelled 'friends series 6'. Still hunting for the seal...
Re: Walgreens and should-be-clearance items
Wow Walgreens prices are crazy, I just saw the seal for $6.49, it's not going anywhere fast so i'll leave it for now.

For that price you might as well buy the lighthouse set for $32 this week. It has a seal and 450 other pieces.
Re: Walgreens and should-be-clearance items
Or you can shell out $2.61 + shipping (from where?) for the piece alone.
