Is this modeled on after an actual train, and what exactly does "DO NOT HUMP" mean in this context?

I made a toy version of the Herzog MPM. http://www.progressiverailroading.com/r ... hine--2460 I found it to be an interesting unique piece of MOW equipment.

The MPM can be connected to the end of a freight train for transport to another location instead of using its own power. Since freight trains can end up at hump yards for automatic sorting, the DO NOT HUMP means the MPM is not designed to be "humped".
