Walmart Lego sales

Post by Legoman83 » Sun Jul 20, 2014 11:07 am

I was at the Walmart in St. Catharines and picked up LOTR set The Wizard Battle 79005 for $10.00 from $15.99. There was 6 0r 7 left there. For $10.00 I think its a great little set. I'm sure other Walmart stores should have this for $10.00 also.

Yes it have been at $5, but at limited stores, also $7 at some other stores. Unless you live by them it is not worth the drive.

I wish Wally World would pick up their clearance game. Target has way better deals but little stock now. Wally has tons of stock so I am not sure how they will find room for all the new summer sets coming.

regarding that last point about stock -- what I've seen is that their Lego aisles get larger and larger while their other toys (KREO, Megabloks, and all sorts of other crap) get smaller. And their shelves are more dense, no empty space... just jammed with boxes.

I have seen sets going on clearance that later returned at full price, even stranger.

Walmart will put stuff on clearance when they have too much in stock. Then when the stock level drops they take it off clearance.

Around here at Wally the lego is scattered through out the toy section in 4 or 5 locations, partly because there is so much stock.

Gee that would be nice... it's just the opposite around here, Walmart's lego asile is getting smaller & smaller every week to make room for the ever-expanding off-brands (some I've never even heard of before). Target - forget it, they usually only have a very "limited" selection at best (but lotsa empty shelves, more so then even Zellers had during the last couple months of their existence)

Now that Mega is owned by the #1 Mattel they're really noticeably pushing hard against Lego territory in the larger retailers like Wallmart... even in the pink section the Barbie sets take premium display points & endcaps while the 3 or 4 friends sets are quite well hidden in with the other generic knock-off dolls... so disappointing...
