[Site News] An Apology to the LEGO Community
Regarding the article posted yesterday night on the LEGO Harry Potter 10217 Diagon Alley set, we would like to offer a apology to the LEGO Community including LEGO fans and sites who have been offended by it. Toys N Bricks did not receive any LEGO Press Release Kits from LEGO officials for this set causing us to have mistakenly post the set info before the specify time. The article has been removed earlier this morning after we found out about it. We feel very bad about this. To prevent a similar case like this from happening again, Toys N Bricks will take extra precautions in the future to continue to bring you the latest LEGO news. Once again, we sincerely apologize to everyone including The LEGO Group for this matter.
*Last, we would like make a special thank you to Huw from Brickset for bringing this to our attention. Without him, we wouldn’t even know that we were not suppose to post the set info before October 1st 12pm EST. Thanks Huw.

I don't mean to be crass or rude but why do you guys kiss Lego's [expletive deleted] so much? Does Lego pay you or something? You should be apologizing to people who log on daily to your website. We do so, to find out about releases early and when and where sales will be. Otherwise we would go to other websites such as Brother Brick. I was turned on to your site a long time ago by an employee of a Lego store. He said it was the best place to find out about releases early. I visit many sites daily but the main reason to visit your site has always been to find out this information. They are lucky they still have fans like us care so much and that buy almost everything that they put out. Letting us see the stuff early should not be a big deal. Maybe they should ask the real collectors like us our opinions BEFORE they release some of the "junk" they are set to release next year. I am not trying to be a troll. It is just my opinion.

It's not a question of kowtowing to LEGO or anything like that - in this instance LEGO had a formal announcement about a product launch they were scheduled to make, and the information was mistakenly leaked early.
The fact that you're so up-in-arms about a sincere apology for mistakenly breaking news mere hours early is rather ridiculous. The issue here is that this site won't get the opportunity to grow and succeed if a relationship with LEGO isn't maintained, and that includes adhering to any stipulations set forth in press releases about time sensitivity. There won't be a site to visit daily if we don't adhere to LEGO's stipulations regarding such matters.
As for asking fan's opinions, there have been numerous surveys over the past year including one about new colors you'd like to see parts created in, Shop.LEGO.com user surveys, and the survey included on the last page of every instruction booklet from at least the past year. If you haven't made your opinion known to LEGO at least once via these avenues, you've missed your opportunity. Complaining here isn't going to do much in that regard.

the issue is before you can maintain a relationship with LEGO you have to have a relationship with them, a few forums will not permit pics of products not authorised by LEGO for the mere fact that LEGO recognises the site and donates prizes for various contests and such, the sites mods might be "KowTowing" as you call it for the mere fact they want to get on LEGO's good graces so they can get LEGO goodies for this site for contests and such, me I don't care LEGO has threatened me and tried to bribe me before to keep information to myself, but not much they can do about me since they cannot force me to sign a NDA form nor will they ever.
Re: [Site News] An Apology to the LEGO Community
I was simply asking the question. Got the answer I was looking for although it seemed to be a quite defensive tone. I am just glad to see another member of the forums explain the real reason you always seem to remove things from your site after Lego asks you to. It is as I expected. I hope you get the relationship built with them that you hoped for. I did and have always filled out the surveys. Lego is a great product and is a great company. Better than most. I just did not expect to see independent websites like this one (and Brickset for that matter) always doing what they are told by Lego. When I did see it happen I thought I would speak up and ask why? Now I understand.
