Scooby Doo - Character Building
Anyone know any place that sells the Scooby Doo LEGO compatible blind bags made by Character Building?
I've found some at one TRU, but it never got restocked. I want to be able to feel the bags because I have most and only want the rare Daphne and Velma ones.

Their website has a list but it's a UK company. Also check eBay. All my toysrus stores seem to have the whole box of blind bags not selling but that doesn't help you unless you are in the dallas area

Re: Scooby Doo - Character Building
I bought the wife the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine Van set from Character Building. I found it on sale at TRU for 17$ or so (off the top of my head I think the regular TRU price was 34.99). She has been a Scooby Doo fan ever since she was a kid.
I was worried there were going to be clutch power issues because I have heard bad things but it wasn't an issue at all. The bricks and figures held together tightly.
The stickers did seem a little strange compared to what I am used to with Lego, they were much thicker. But all in all it is a neat set.

The only problem we've had with the Character Building figs thus far (and we've had them for a year and a half now - I bought them from the UK before they were available in the US) is that the leg of one of the figures snapped off and broke quite easily. This was Ben 10 (my son loves Ben 10) but it's a similar construction. Our Scooby-Doo figs have held up fine, though, so far.

Some of these sets are part of the TRU clearance. The raft, vampire castle and mystery machine are all 1/2 price (the bi-plane and pirate ship were still full price). Picked up the vampire castle to go with blind bags I picked up last year looking forward to building castle the textured worn bricks look interesting.

Ya, in the clone brands section...at the TRU I went to they were right next to the Knex Plants vs Zombies.atmail35 wrote:Ack, I TOTALLY forgot about these! Depending on how old your daughter is you might have to help with sticker application. The instruction don't tell you where the stickers go. You have to just look at some of the the pictures on the box or the front of the instructions and figure it out.

I have a spare Velma, the Daphne stood out with her big head and skirt, but it was pretty hard to track down. I see one or two usually bunched with the other miss mash of other blind bags, but haven't seen a full box for quite some time. Also some stores stock them by the other scooby doo playsets and figures so check there as well.dilbert12 wrote:Anyone know any place that sells the Scooby Doo LEGO compatible blind bags made by Character Building?

Ugg the dreaded stickers! Good to know. She is "trained" to get me to put on the stickers, my husband helped her with one set and put them on all crooked and has been banned ever sincelego the hutt wrote:Ya, in the clone brands section...at the TRU I went to they were right next to the Knex Plants vs Zombies.atmail35 wrote:Ack, I TOTALLY forgot about these! I see the Mystery Machine ($35) and the Vampire Castle ($50) online at TRU, seems kind of pricey. I'd love to find them on clearance, but in my area they are listed as out of stock in-store.
Re: Scooby Doo - Character Building
I was able to order just scooby (minifigure) from a ebay vendor in the UK. It only cost about $7 (shipping included). If you can find the Mystery Machine for about $20 it may be a better idea to buy the Mystery Machine (since it includes Scooby) but if you give up you may want to try the vendor that I bought from. The link to the vendor and item at ebay is here http://www.ebay.com/itm/370800153431?va ... 1497.l2649atmail35 wrote:Ack, I TOTALLY forgot about these! While I considered buying the whole crew I decided that as long as I had scooby I could make my own Mystery Inc crew with LEGO no problem. Here is a link to a review of the Mystery Machine (not my review) http://thisisme-sarahmumof3.blogspot.co ... -from.html

Lol, it does!! I wish LEGO made the color of the van though. That'd be nice...poniemomo wrote:Is it just me or does Fred's head look like he as a small mouth and mustache?StClair wrote: While I considered buying the whole crew I decided that as long as I had scooby I could make my own Mystery Inc crew with LEGO no problem. Re: Scooby Doo - Character Building
Any luck finding the Mystery Machine? I was traveling yesterday and stopped at two ToysRus stores and neither had the Mystery Machine. I was in Northern KY and Southern Ohio. Actually the only Scooby Doo sets I found at either was the pirate ship in Northern KY (Florence, KY). Good luck with your search.atmail35 wrote:Ack, I TOTALLY forgot about these! My TRU restocked most of these, the small raft is now 8.08, mystery machine is still 17.49 and I think I saw tag for the vampire castle for 17.49 (down from 24.98). Didn't scan the plane or the pirate ship but tags still showed full price.

I'll have to check on those. I wouldn't mind building something in "Mystery Machine Green".poniemomo wrote:My TRU restocked most of these, the small raft is now 8.08, mystery machine is still 17.49 and I think I saw tag for the vampire castle for 17.49 (down from 24.98).
