LDD keeps switching my computer off!

In some cases when I use LDD for a while, my computer suddenly switches off in a snap of the fingers!
I press the power button afterwards and it doesn't come back on.
Then I wait for 60 seconds or more then try again and it starts up just fine!
Mine is a 2010 Dell Studio notebook computer with Windows 7.
I wonder if it just overheated and triggered a thermal cutout, or perhaps there is some kind of fault...
Maybe it's time for me to upgrade to a better PC. I might choose a different brand.

I get a lot of false-starts on my MacBook. I'll open the program and it will immediately crash, then will open fine the next time. Never had the computer crap out on me entirely, though.
