Gamestop has a Western Emmet minifig as a pre-order bonus for the Lego Movie Videogame.

I don't see any bonus figs from Walmart or Target for the pre-order.
The game's release date is the same as the movie.

Toys R Us Canada (can't speak for the US) is giving away a $10 gift card for pre-ordering the LEGO movie game.
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?

Nothing special showing for the US site.

Does anyone have experience with ordering just to get the fig and then returning the game unopened for store credit? Either at game stop or walmart?

If Walmart has the same kind of packaging they had for Marvel Super Heroes only the exterior box/sleeve (that contains the poly and the video game case) is sealed. The video game itself is NOT sealed.
Best bet is just pre-order the one you want the most, and ebay the other (although with the prices of Iron Patriot on ebay, you'd almost be better off BUYING both, and just reselling the extra game).

If I was to only buy one game it would be at Walmart. The GameStop version is on a lot of platforms, so taco emmit should be cheaper on eBay. Walmart is only on 2 it looks like so it will much higher I'm secondary market.

UGH, we don't have Xbox 360 or PS3...I just have a wii and that's why we never got the Iron Patriot fig...I'm too lazy to try to Ebay the game...now that I look at it, you can't even get the game for wii, just wii U....so annoying!

The torso of exclusive minifig from Walmart screwed things up. It exposed a patch of silver colour above the collar in which I can't swap it with yellow or fresh minifig.
MSRP for the game is too high for me. It is not worth to pay that much for either of these 2 minifigs. Look at the LEGO Marvel video game, the game itself without Iron Patriot was just $20 to $30 during Black Friday and Boxing Day. I could bare (which actually was a little over my bottom line) with it to pay that much for a licensed Iron Patriot, and this was the only PS3 game I purchased at MSRP. Fortunately, this Iron Patriot seemed to retain its value. Anyway, for these 2 LEGO Movie minifigs, I may consider to pass.
I am just sharing my thought and I don't mean to discourage anyone to get them, though.

I'm hoping Walmart Canada has the same promo. Can't see anything on their site regarding the promo.

Take one of your sleepy head mini figures from series 6 and put an Emmett head on it. :)

aaargh. that makes sense tho. if it weren't this way, there'd be the rash of returns from peeps who just wanted the figs. alas, our platform is not one of the two walmart offers, so gamestop it is for us!
thanks for the advice.

Just found this link at Brickfan site...
http://www.thebrickfan.com/the-lego-mov ... -theaters/
Its some sort of Regal Cinema exclusive. While the pajamas look to be the same as the minifigure from earlier series the face does look unique (could be wrong). I think I would prefer either the Western Emmett exclusive or the Radio DJ exclusive (love the torso and brown hair with headphones) ... ugh.. Just noticed that they made the collar of the shirt so that it shows silver around the neck.
I won't be buying the game on any platform. I unfortunately only have a wii :( The only one that I hasn't been released thus far that I've dying to get is a figure of Michelangelo (the artist). I hope they make him available somehow in the future.

Looking at Best Buy in Canada, They don't seem to have the PJ Emmet on the PS4 version.

I don't see any mention of a free promo figure at Best Buy.
The DJ Robo minifig appears to ONLY be available with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, none of the current-gen console editions have it included. I also don't have an AMC theater really near me (closest is an hour away) and I don't want to pay $12 for their "Stubs" membership program, so it looks like no DJ Robo for me at all.
So, it appears my decision has been made for me, though I don't know if Western Emmet is enough of a draw for me to preorder it at all. At least I'll get Pajama Emmet at the local Regal theater.

They show the PJ Emmet in BB Ad for next week, not on the website.
