Name: United Nations Headquarters
Theme: Architecture
Year: 2013
Pieces: 597
Minifigs: None
Price: US $49.99 / CAN $? / UK £?
The Box:

The box has the same basic look as the rest of the architecture series, the standard black background. The image on the box is a computer generated image.
The pieces:

Inside the box there are five bags of parts and three loose baseplates

There is a seperate pice of paper reminding you to take a product survey instead of on the back of the instruction book like other sets.

The instruction book is higher quality and is printed on thicker paper than most sets. It's nice that LEGO had collectors in mind when designing every aspect of the set.

The first several pages of the instruction book have information about the real United Nations Headquarters.

All the pieces laid out. The pieces that stood out to me the most were the 1x2 trans light blue plates, this is the first time that this piece has been made in trans light blue. This set has 155 of them. other exclusive pieces include the 1x1 tiles and 1x1 plates in trans light blue.

The nameplate pieces are printed.
The Build:

Starting on the base of the model. Very straightforward at this point.

A little further along there are some slightly more advanced techniques.

Here you can see the technique used for the wall up close, the white bricks are headlight bricks and the gray ones are stud-on-one-side bricks. this gives the most gradual slope possible using legal methods.

Conclusion:
DESIGN 10/10 - This set well designed and is easily recognizable to anyone who knows the real building.
BUILD 9/10 - Mostly basic building techniques are used but there are a few advanced techniques. It is a very solid set except for the lever pieces used as flagpoles are easy to bump.
MINIFIGURES N/A
PLAYABILITY N/A This set was designed exclusively as a display set so it dosen't have any play features.
PARTS 9/10 - Lots of smaller pieces. tons of never before seen 1x2 plates in trans light blue.
PRICE 9/10 - 597 pieces for $50 is below the golden 10 cents per part, which is pretty good considering the higher quality instructions/info booklet.
OVERALL 9.3/10 - In the past I was skeptical of buying the Architecture series sets because they seemed small for their price, but after seeing how accurate and profesional this model was, I was impressed. I may have to pick up another Architecture set to see how it compares.
