I recently made an order for the BrickArms Chrome Blade Pack at http://www.BrickArms.com, where I have often looked at the above item description and images for the BrickArms Chrome-Modern Pack with envy and longing, however, at every purchase I talked myself out of purchasing them as I could get many "regular" BrickArms for the money I would spend on these few pieces. I questioned myself over and over every single time I made an order - is it worth $16 for shiny chromed weapons when I could buy the same 6 peices for $5.75 if they were not chromed? This last order, I finally decided to quit listening the logical side of my mind, and placed an order which included the two available BrickArms Chrome Weapons packs - which included the BrickArms Chrome-Modern Pack.

Thus, the question remains - are the BrickArms Chrome Weapon Packs worth the price?

The answer is an astounding YES!

I couldn't have been more happy that I had included them in my order! I was so pleased with the quality and how they looked, that I decided they could not be showcased with one of my figures I had already created, but rather they needed new figures designed around the BrickArms Chrome-Modern Pack. Thus begins my second foray into reviewing my BrickArms products, each with figures designed specifically to showcase the BrickArms Chrome-Blades Pack.

The first weapon up for review is the BrickArms Electroplated Combat Shotgun:

This weapon was the first frmo this pack to inspire me to create a figure for it, and one that I have long been planning on creating. The T-800 Terminator! The face and torso are hand-painted by myself, not decaled. The BrickArms Combat Shotgun has been one of my absolute favorites since it first was released. The only issue I have with the Combat Shotgun is that the minifigure handle grip does not allow for the gun to be displayed across the minifigures torso. However, there are enough other connection points that this doesn't prove to be a huge issue. With all that said, I love having a copy of my favorite BrickArms in Chrome! The entire weapon is electroplated, and like all BrickArms products fits perfectly in the Minifigures hands. You won't be disappointed with the Chrome Combat Shotgun!

The second weapon up for review is the Brickarms Electroplated M1851 Revolver:

This figure was similar to the Perfect Storm - I received new Lego pieces and the BrickArms Chrome products at the same time with both inspiring me to create one of the Three Amigos (soon to be all three). As I was first ordering this Chrome Weapons Pack, I was a little surprised that the M1851 was included in the Modern Pack, however, after playing.. testing the weapon out I found that it still had a number of applications, many of which include modern themes. The M1851 looks great especially in the cowboy/Western theme. While I don't think this weapon is the draw for this weapons pack, it is still one which will leave you with warm feelings at the end of the day.

The third weapon up for review is the Brickarms Electroplated M21:

I have loved this sniper rifle from BrickArms since it was released (I'm finding a theme here - there aren't many BrickArms that I don't love). The curves of this weapon really catch the shine! My personal opinion, is that this weapon will work very well in a wide variety of themes. As I write this, I think it would look beautiful in the hands of a SWAT Sniper.

The fourth weapon up for review is the Brickarms Electroplated Lewis Gun:

I had originally intended to show this weapon in an unmodified state - however, my zeal in creating a figure overwhelmed my common sense. However, the chrome weapon is still the most prominent feature! I had originally intended to show this figure with a Star Wars Trooper, and yet I moved it to an undersea theme. As you can tell from this, the Chrome Lewis Gun is a very versatile weapon, and the chrome version is even more so. I notice that the ammo case does not seem to be very moveable in the chrome version of this weapon, whereas the non-chromed version moves well. I suspect that the chrome creates a slightly tighter fit between the ammo drum and the weapon, and would be moveable, however, I have yet to push it that far. Aside from that, this weapon is a really wonderful addition to the chrome pack and will be a great addition to your collection.

The fifth weapon up for review is the Brickarms Electroplated Combat LMG.

The Combat LMG looks great as a chromed item, and one which you will find can compliment a number of your soldiers. The chrome element really works well with this weapon, and brings out all the nooks and crannies. You will find that this weapon is useful for a wide variety of themes, and you will not be disappointed with it!

The sixth and final weapon up for review is the Brickarms Electroplated Ammo Pack.

The Chrome Ammo Pack looks great in this pack! I only wish that they had given more chrome ammo packs here! For those who are more of a Lego Purist, these might work great as a Wolverine figure with claws. Aside from that these can be used as the primary feature of a figure, or used to compliment a figure. Although small, it still packs a great punch!

In conclusion, I am extremely happy with this weapons pack and if you can afford it, I would highly recommend purchasing this set for your collection! It may not come with a lot of pieces for your dollar, but it sure comes with a BANG. Each of the weapons offer different strengths to them, which really helps enhance this collection as well, due to the fact that it gives you such a wide variety in a single weapons pack. The Chrome, as mentioned above, is a wonderful addition to some great Brickarms weapons, and really serves to enhance the wonderful details of these weapons which would often go overlooked were it not for the effect the Chrome provided.

Thanks for reading my review, and I hope it helps get you to ignore your own inner-logical voice on your next Brickarms order, and go ahead with purchasing one or more of these weapon packs. You won't regret it - I guarantee it :)

I have a few of the BA Chrome stuff and while i'm not a big fan of Chrome items in general, they are not too shabby, but sadly really have no use in my designs, but who knows may eventually find a use for them, thats why I love BrickForge and BrickArms stuff, no matter how outlandish it looks there is always a use for it, and their crafted very well.
