What happend with Lego and Shell?
In the 1990's Lego sets would be put out when a new Shell gas station would open up (from my understanding). Why did they stop handing those sets out?

No new Shell gas stations have opened in 20 years. ;)
Honestly that's a good question. Eurobricks has a LEGO ambassador that sometimes answers questions. This is a great one to ask. I liked those sets. There was a small tanker truck for $10 once, any little polybags of different themes.

I got the pit stop set and the one I picked up was made in Denmark. I do wondering if they would do that if a shell station opened up.
