goodness, i didn't expect it to happen that quickly. Back to 25% off with free shipping. That was fast. I wonder if people had buyers remorse and cancelled their orders?

Re: JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
The situation is real but anyone who follows Lego info knew about it months ago. Nothing in that news article that was posted in the first post of this thread was new information (except that the palace was confirmed to be retiring in 2014)...but then it is assumed that in most cases 2012 sets will be retired in 2014 so that wasn't exactly ground breaking info.Francfurters wrote:Lol. April Trolls that think that everything is a joke just because it was posted on April Fools Day. This is indeed real. It's absurd how Muslims target toys now. I'm surprised how they complained now rather than 30 years ago when the palace was actually seen for the first time. I believe Lego isn't the one to blame here.
The OP who posted the link was making their first post so they probably didn't know any better.
It is simply misleading journalism. The wording used purposefully skews the info and makes the uniformed reader think that the set being retired in 2014 is in direct relation to the Muslim complaints. Everything in the article is technically true but you have to have an understanding of the time frame when reading it to be able to decipher the information correctly.
As most of us know, Lego responded to this situation quite a while ago. It has already been taken care of.
Here is a link from one of the multiple reports a few months back. This one is from Jan 23rd that talks about the situation. (Lego has already responded to the accusations by this time and it has some quotes from Lego reps in the article):

My mother-in-law even saved me a newspaper clipping about it because she knows I enjoy Lego...over a month ago now. Of course I had already seen multiple articles on the situation by that time.
The fact that people freaked out and bought up a bunch of Jabba's Palace is totally ridiculous. It happened to come out on April Fools. Call it what you will but it seems like the best April Fools joke of the year to me. People actually fell for it.

It's gone again on amazon. I'm telling you, don't expect to get it at less than RRP again. Yes, it's ridiculous, but these aren't people like us buying em- it's people who don't know any better. The lemmings are out in full force. :)

There are tons at the Toronto Legostore still. But all we get is the 30% markup and 2xVIP.....
Re: JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
Wait, LEGO stops producing sets after a certain amount of time? That explains why I can't still find all the sets I had in my childhood on store shelves!
