Looking for Arkham Asylum Breakout (10937) at great price

Post by Dirtbag » Sat Mar 30, 2013 4:33 pm

Hi guys,

I'm new here. Seems to be a good place to keep track on special prices.

I'm looking for this specific set, but it seems to be only available through the online Lego Store. The price is high (210$) considering the number of pieces (1619). Plus the shipping... 20$ (ouch).

I've already checked on Amazon : it's even worse.

I live in Montreal and no stores around are selling sets that big.

What would you do?

Thanks! :)

Bought mine on Ebay for $160.00 + $10 shipping. The problem you are probably thinking about is shipping to Canada. I had mine shipped to a parcel service at the U.S. border. When i had enough purchases to make the trip to the border worthwhile I picked everything up. Buy a few other sets you see cheap on Ebay and make it worthwhile!!

Across the border is probably the cheapest, or wait for a free shipping/double points combination offer but that won't be for a while.

How much taxes did you have to pay though when crossing the border? The quebec border based on my experience is tough - they search you more often and nail you on taxes more often compared to other borders like ontario (niagara or windsor), so only worth it if you stay 48 hours to allow $700 to pass through duty free. Dirtbag, something to consider as you plan the shipping to border technique. Shipping to niagara border is pretty good, as I passed through a couple times with $400 or more of goods and no taxes paid after declaring it.

Dirtbag, if you are interested I have one for sale at $175cdn but I am in the toronto area, so you will need shipping (and $20 is not unreasonable for shipping within canada for this large set). I am pretty sure no one can match that price in canada.

I just check my bank account : ouf, I spend too much on Lego recently.

Your offer is good and I'll think about it. I will contact you in about a month if I'm still interested.

Is it unopen?
