Fred Meyer 3/17 - 3/23 28% off Chima and Star Wars

Post by Hotspur » Sun Mar 17, 2013 11:09 pm

Fred Meyer is offering 20% off sets from the Chima and Star Wars themes this week, plus a 10% off toys coupon which stacks with no issues at the register. Note that it's a 10% off toys coupon though, and not the 10% off Home coupon (which lately has applied only to housewares and has excluded toys).

Also listed in the ad is the TMNT Sewer Hideout, priced at 39.99 (20% off MSRP). It is the only TMNT set on sale, though, according to the price scanners.

Happy hunting!

According to the Ads, the sale for SW and Chima is "only" limited to MSRP $29.99 box set.

Hm, YMMV maybe. My ad only had Saesee Tiins Jedi Starfighter and Wakz Pack Tracker pictured, and both of those are normally $29.99. But Craggers Command ship still rang up at 63.99 before the coupon, which is 20% off MSRP (came out to 57.59 with the coupon). I scanned quite a few outside the 29.99 price point; everything I scanned reflected the sale.

It could be different at other locations, though.

In the store I visited Chima and Star Wars were marked down 20% on the shelf. I think it was all Chima sets and speedorz. I'm not as sure about SW but RP and many other sets were included.

I just visited 3 Fred Meyers. All stores offer 20% off to all Star Wars and Chima Theme sets, plus 10% off on top at check out. I grabbed 2 Rancor Pits, 2 Turtle Lair Attack, and lots of Chima sets (kid started collecting Chima).

I also found the store labelled a yellow 20% off discount tab to 79001 Escape from Mirkwood Spiders set. Because it has not been advertised, I thought it might be a mistake. I have been proved wrong when it rang up as 23.99 at check out. Due to my tight schedule, I didn't have chance going back to toy section and price check other LOTR and Hobbies sets. I could only grab a box of 79001 with other discounted sets and left.

EDIT: I have been looking for Jabba Palace or M Falcon, but no store carried it.

I scanned all the LOTR and Hobbit sets -- only one on sale was Mirkwood Spiders. I guess it's like the turtles where they only have one set on sale this week.

Is the 10% coupon available online somewhere or was it in a mailer/ad?

It was available from their fryers, which you could pick it up at the store. Or, you could visit their web site to print it out.

Not to nitpick, but shouldn't Fred Meyer sales/deals only be posted in the YMMV forum?

The stores aren't everywhere, and don't sell online, so not available to everyone in the u.s, etc....

But it doesn't vary from store to store. There for its not YMMV its just a long way away from you ;p
Same thing for us with Five Below for example.

LOL so when someone posts a clearance at a specific store, it still qualifies as everyone in the US, just some of us have to travel a thousand miles or so?

I was referring to the bolded part:

Share your LEGO Sales and LEGO Deals Finds here. These deals are either national or available online to everyone living in the United States. This is the LEGO Sales Forum for members from the United States.

But like I said wasn't trying to nitpick, I just notice some things get moved there, and some don't, so commented on it :)

Ya, just stop nitpicking. It seems like every other post I read in the sales and deals forum belongs in YMMV (I just now read one about a sale in a area specific Lego store). I feel like we should just go back to one sub forum since people don't seem to be very good at separating the 2 (the YMMV forum does still say Beta after all). The least we can do is not clutter up the threads by commenting about it. If the mods want it moved they will move it.
