Movie vignette: The Wizard of Oz

Post by ethnosax » Tue Mar 05, 2013 10:52 pm

I'm enjoying the movie vignette contest too much. I've made three, with a few more in progress. I have no idea which one to choose for the contest entry, but I'll post them all here for comments and suggestions. Thanks!

The Wizard of Oz (1939)
"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Billund anymore."

I think there could be an entire contest based on making Oz vignettes.

The scene I chose is the iconic moment when Dorothy opens the door from the sepia world of the Kansas prairies to the technicolor fairyland of Oz. As with the Metropolis vignette, I wanted this one to be able to look just like the shot from the movie.

144 pieces total; ca. 1.5 hours to design and build

The parts:

Dorothy
hair - CMS Surfer Girl
head - Princess Leia
torso and legs - plain tan

Munchkin in hiding
hat, torso, and legs - CMS Short Clown
head - CMS Bunny Suit Guy
