I think it's usually fairly accurate. Mine says January 29th, but I'm farther away than you are (California).
Mine showed up just now. That's 6 days early. Nice!
Did you get a tracking # for your order? My says delivery by: Jan 24, 2013 but I haven't got anything yet.
Really hard to know what's going on without a tracking #.
Well, you can see it when you log on to the amazon.fr site. You go to your orders and there's a big orange button to track the order. I don't think they email the tracking link to you directly.
Another thing to note is that my tracking said it was still in England right up until the package was delivered. So don't put too much stock in the tracking if it says it's half a world away.
For me, it says "Suivi non disponible. Pourquoi ? " so I can't even track my order. How long should I wait until I file a "Non-delivery?"

I wouldn't panic. They can take some time to ship. For series 7, I remember other people got them a week ahead of me. I'd wait a couple weeks at least before considering that.

Thanks. I will give it some more time before I do anything else.

I had problems trying to get the payment to go through because It kept getting blocked by fraud detection. Eventually I gave up and ordered a box from a Bricklink store and it ended up being cheaper anyway.
I got my box here if anyone wants to know:

That happened to me once when ordering from amazon UK (not France). I've ordered tons of stuff from them, but only once was it undeliverable. They refunded me my money immediately, but after the credit card company took their share of the exchange rate, it still cost 5 bucks or so for nothing.... :(

No, but I just received a notice from the company that they successfully received "my return" and refunded my credit card. This would have made me happier if I'd actually received the item in the first place... I've emailed their customer service in my sketchy high school French - I'm just hoping the response is simple enough for me to understand!

I just write in English, and use Google Translate, then copy and paste to the email.

Yeah, Google Translate is not as accurate as I would like. I do use it when I buy stuff from Japan and have no choice, but my French is sufficient for this type of correspondence. In the end, Amazon.fr just told me I would have to re-buy the box, then contact them to get the price reduced (since it's gone up in the meantime). I'm sure this would be fine, but I didn't want to risk it if something went wrong and I couldn't get the price difference accounted for. I'm not really interested in trying to deal with this as an international shipment issue.

Yeah, I know what you mean. There's always issues with international shipments. I have a package that was held for me at a Post Office for several days. Eventually, it got send back to the sender because I didn't get the "Notice of Delivery" card in time. I wasn't happy.

He quoted you 6.90 polish zloty ($2.35 USD), but then charged you $35.00 to ship it? Kinda shady...
