How do I determine the value of my collection?

Hi all,

I have a rather large lego collection that I am going to sell and I'm unsure how to determine the value of it / set a price for it. At the moment it's partially sorted but trying to get a piece by piece price using bricklink seems prohibitively time consuming.

Any advice out there for how to go about getting a reasonably accurate price without spending weeks of sorting and cataloging?

I'm not looking for offers so please keep it on topic.

Well, you could go to brick picker and enter all your sets and their condition and it will give you a general estimate of value...though that is based on ebay prices and you selling them individually as sets. I think there are numbers there that list ebays average bulk brick selling price based on weight. It's a starting point anyway.

It is probably going to be pretty time consuming no matter what but that should be more efficient than looking up each piece individually on bricklink.

As always the ratio which takes precedence is time = money. If you took the time to pull the sets with minifigs and instructions from the bulk, you'll make more. You could set a price per pound and go from there. Or take the maximum amount of photos, start an auction, and let THEM decide. Oh, and clean them!
