I missed the Town Hall at Wal-mart. While this 20% off sale seems like "not much of a sale" , for 2012 it's a actually really good. It's a 'blanket' 20% across 2 extremely popular and big lines which includes some store exclusives...something you don't usually see at Target or Wal-mart, only TRU..

Wal-mart - Hasn't shown many sales this year until recently. Best you could look for was a 10-15% of selective sets. Even now the deals are very quick and supplies very small, so if you are working when the sale goes live, you most likely missed it. Even clearance this year with Wal-mart hasn't been that great in most areas.

Target - Same as Wal-mart with the random 5-10% off certain set sales. At least they toss you a coupon every now again that amounts to 20-30%. Clearance in my area has been terrible here as well. Very few things went on Clearance and usually only 30% off if you do see it, but they seem to be sending it to consignment faster. I also don't count the Redcard discount as an actual discount. I see it as a tax reducer. It gives me more of a reason to order from Target than Amazon since I can return / exchange much easier.

TRU - They have had some random BOGO 50% sales, and the recent B2G1F deals. After their mark-ups, the only real 'deals' have been CMF Series, and TRU Exclusives. Most of the discounts amount to 10-12% off MSRP.

Amazon - Your hope and prayer that you can catch a random set on sale before it sells out. I love them since I pay no tax, but unlike Walmart/Target/TRU where I can return my merchandise within the next 90 days if I find a better deal instead of only 30.

B&N - This year I've only seen 20% coupons. They did the roulette but I never saw anyone post anything over 20%, sometimes 30% for members. Here your normally limited to 1 store per city with a small selection if anything (unless you are lucky). Their online deals are pretty good for around 30% off.

This year's deals just haven't lived up to the past year or two. Hopefully the run up to Christmas and after will make up for that (as we've seen with the Modulars and others at Walmart). At least you can always return within 90 days =)
