LEGO Speedorz & LEGO Legends of Chima Themes for 2013

LEGO has recently registered intellectual property rights in the Europion Union for two new potential LEGO themes for 2013. The first one that has been filed under trademark protection is LEGO Speedorz (reminds me of "Need for Speed") and will probably replace the current existing Racers line. The second one is LEGO Legends of Chima which will most likely have to do with adventures/actions similar to Indiana Jones and Ninjago. (via Brickset)

Heard about that. Speedorz sounds meh, Chima sounds great.

I have a feeling that Legends of Chima will be good. Adventure themes are one of my favorites.

Regardless, if it is Asian inspired and include some buildings (i.e. architecture), I am happy.

Doing a search for Chima came up with nothing that would seem to lend itself to a theme. It's a city in Columbia and a type of Korean skirt.

I dunno, I'm sure we will see more on this soon. It seems like they would have picked a more common name.

I'm going to guess Chima ends up being Ninjago part 2 or somehow related to Ninjago. I think the Ninjago theme did to well to not be replaced by something similar.

Legends of Chima sounds interesting but I'll reserve my opinion 'til I see pictures.

On Brickset, they posted a Lego sticker book on amazon.uk, showing the new Chima figure here (look at the lower right corner):

Looking closely, it appears the face is a molded piece layered over the face (not an entirely new head).

Hrm, yeah, that makes sense. Like Ninjago used Spinners, Chima uses Speedorz.
