With that new knowledge, I had my wife ask and trail the associate while she scanned the Legos. All of them were dropped from 30 to 50. She had to compete with the woman with 2 full cart loads of clearance toys. I have seen this at almost every single toy clearance time at Target. Wonder what kind of profit the toy hoarders turn on eBay.
;-) if you weren't in S. Calif. the other woman could have been me! But i only had one cart with toys. They also had Bizu on 70%, which is a toy 7 year old girls enjoy so I stocked up. I had to then buy some plastic storage totes to hold my new found stuff in the basement :lol:no

I have also tailed the scanner employees or asked them to scan a few items for me. Today I asked an employee who was organizing shelves if they were done and they said everything had been marked down.

Another shopper asked if I needed all those toys and i told her they were birthday party favors (they could be)..some people don't get it! ;-)

No first wave Friends on clearance either or Dino.
Apart from that one store that had 2 BPs at full price, there's no PoTC left around here either (as far as I know). Ditto re the Millennium Falcons. A couple weeks ago, I found Dino at 30% off at a Target kind of far from my house, so I picked both sets (HQ and the other T-Rex set) up at that time. I'd be very surprised if the rest survived to drop to 50% off though. No Friends on clearance at all that I can see.

I had a full cart, too. I always buy birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, party favors, etc in advance if I can. The toys at this clearance were so boy-friendly, too. Hot Wheels, Transformers Rescue Bots, Imaginext Jokers House - it all kind of made it into my cart. Er, somehow.

Remember Friends didn't get released until MArch, so wouldn't know when they might go clearance.
My daughter really wants Olivias house, so I check often. ;-)
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

yup, target has to manually process it to see the item go to the next clearance level. It works out great if you arrive as they are processing the aisle. I got almost the entire run of potc last time for 50-70 off because no one marked them as clearance at a couple targets, so they sat on the regular shelf, so no one processed them til yours truly came along.

Hoping for your scenario, I did go track down a sales associate with a hand scanner to check the price on the Black Pearl and Millennium Falcon at the one store - but, alas, they were really still full price... Disappointing!

I was thinking that since the second wave i coming soon to Target (I'd hope) that maybe they would want to make room for it. I forgot that wave 1 took a few months to get there though. It really pains me that I've bought some of the new Friends at TRU (even if it was below MSRP, I'd so rather give my business to other stores).

I think most sets are gone at 30%. If you look at how much TRU is charging with their mark ups, a 30% discount at target is like 50% off at TRU. A bargain for the average shopper.

The only reason I was able to get a turbo tank for 50% off is because the tag had it marked down to only $83 instead of $60.

Got the last Turbo Tank and the last Black Pearl at 2 separate Targets today in Sacramento $60 each, much thanks to the fine people on this forum!

As an aside: The need for an item to physically be in store to be scanned in order to activate price changes is one of the snafus in the return-and-repurchase ideas floated earlier. Ergo, if you buy a BP at $101 hoping it will be discounted more steeply later and there are none in store when next Thursday comes around, the price will stay the same. But you should probably return it anyway...

Anyone have any luck with return - rebuy. Have one location with Millenium Falcon at $42.28 and Dino HQ at $33.58 but both out of stock. Was going to try the old need to switch credit cards because I am over limit. Think I need to try at these prices.

You can ask, but I've always been denied. Then I see the associate rescan it and it pops up at 50% or whatever. I've even tried to return it 10 minues before closing and arrive early AM and it is always no where to be found, probably bought by an employee.

If you do it w/ credit card look up, make sure you buy the second one on a different card. I've done the buy one at $10 and then see it at $5 and return the $10 one, but you need the receipt or a different card to make sure you get back the $10 vs $5. Good luck!

I returned a bunch of HP polybags I had bought for 50% off right after Christmas - and they were reshelved pretty much first thing in the morning at the then current discount of 90% off. In fact, I caught the guy while he was starting to reshelve a big cart of stuff at the registers and he was happy to dig around for the polys for me. That was the only time I actually found my return purchase on the shelves though. I think it was just luck, and probably there was not as much demand for the polybags.

FINALLY! I found some decent clearance sales! 50% off 1 Millenium Falcon, 2 Podracers, 1 Mill Escape (POTC), and the Alien Conquest Walker. Happy day!

Does anyone have DCPI codes for Millenium Falcon, Podracers and other BIG SW sets? I feel a need to search around!

According to the item listings on Target.com, DPCI for the Podracers is 204-00-1096, and the Falcon is 204-00-1098.

Thanks for the info. But you'd still need to actually go to the stores to see if they're clearanced, yeah? My local Target has several Falcons (and other stuff folks have mentioned here as being clearanced in their area) but they've all been (and still are) full-price.

So you don't Ebay the toys? I can't imagine hoarding any other toys. I have enough Legos to last birthdays for decades if I went that route. But, I just want 1 to save and 1 to build.

Thanks, I didn't think to look at Target.com

I have in the past called the store that has stock and asked them to look up the price for me, if it is a far drive. The issue with that is if it is a "hot" item then CS might take it for themselves. So really it is better not to call attention to the item.
