Ladies and gentlemen, please walk, don't run to _our_ local WalMart Super-Clearance!

One (1) Frog Rush for $11.97.

Hero Factory, ALL on sale 5% (that's FIVE WHOLE PERCENT!) off MSRP! Please, calm yourselves, I know we only have a dozen to three dozen of each Heros item on our shelf, but try to contain yourself!

(insert cricket chirps here)

Everything else MSRP, including the 13 boxes of Black Pearl in two locations in the store, tons of Harry Potter, Cars2, ancient Star Wars (yes, we still have all the 2011 sets and some 2010s) clottin' up the aisle with the new runs stuffed between them.

We'll continue to drool over everyone else's post - and flinch when we see folks complaining about "only" 30% off.

Enjoy - Bob (and crew)

Nothing going on in NorCal... saw some Alien Conquest with yellow stickers daringly marked down to... full MSRP! Toy section manager told me no reset is planned even though no space is allocated for Avengers (LotR got an endcap at one store, shoehorned in at another).

Last night, in the Westborough, MA Walmart, I saw four Black Pearls in the Clearance aisle for $70 each. Run, don't walk, there to get them now.

So is 30% off a good deal for you guys? I've been past plenty of the big sets for 30% on my travel. Seems like no one is picking them up at this price.

I think it's a good deal for sure. I usually buy it now and if I happen to come to the same store and I find it cheaper I will return the item and buy it at the lower price. I usually miss the opportunity to buy them at 50% and then I regret not getting the set at all, or at least that's how I felt in the past. 90 days of buyers remorse is plenty of time to wait and see what happens. I also think that if you want the set to begin with and it's not necessarily for profit, why wait and chance it?

For me, if it is a set I want (like Whitecap Bay), 30% is a great deal. If it isn't a set I want I'll usually wait for a higher percentage off before I'll bite... LEGO bricks are LEGO bricks and if the deal is good enough there's no such thing as a bad set.

In other words, the percentage discount at which I'll bite is inversely proportional to how much I like the set and or its parts.

This is how I feel too. I also think that 5 or 6 cents per piece is a good threshold for me.

IMO, 30% off is pretty good, at our Target, LEGO generally does not last ling enough to make it to 50% and almost never to 70% off. My Walmart absolutely sucks for clearance items so I rarely get any there. :???:

I heard that Walmart has a "clearance allowance" and once that $$$$ amount is reached, items that are on clearance may be MOVE BACK to the shelf at MSRP!!!!

Every WM has different allowance figure and it's at the manager's discretion how to use it. So that's why things are random and a bit of a mystery but the key here is that the price may NOT be going down all the time, in fact it may go up again so it's best to buy and keep the receipts.

My son had a birthday party to attend near a Wal-Mart today, so I dropped him off and decided to stop by - absolutely no LEGO in the clearance aisle, and no HP or PotC left in the regular aisle. However, I was surprised to see 3 AC Motherships in the regular LEGO aisle - and they scanned at $30 (50% off). I picked up 2 and left 1. For anyone in the Chicago area, this is the Vernon HIlls Wal-Mart.

I'm trying to think where sporting goods is - you mean behind where the regular toy section is toward the rear of the store? I just checked the area near the garden section. Interesting.

I'm not REAL familiar with the store, but was there about a week ago. If you're in the main aisle next to Toys, facing the back, walk to the last aisle before the back wall. Turn right and I think it was only one or two aisles in.

There's a UCS SSD with a beat up box that's clearly been opened at a local Walmart. I talked to customer service and they said they could only take 10% off the msrp. I left it there. I really want this SSD, but not at MSRP if it's been opened/box is beat up. Anyone have any experience or any tips on how to best handle the situation?

They have USC sets at Walmart?! But try and talk to the manager, but if he or she also says 10% off then take it or leave it. I guess 10% can save you the tax.

It was most likely a return item from an online purchase. 10% isn't personally worth it to me, especially if I'm taking the risk of missing pieces.

They carry them online so it is possible that someone ordered it online & just returned it to the store (maybe because of the damaged box in question).

I remember seeing a Harry Potter Diagon Alley set at my local Walmart after Christmas, I thought I would get super lucky and have it ring up 50% off...sadly that was not the case, so I left it there.

Agreed. They could of have stolen all the expensive minifigs plus the parts and the buyer is left with some unwanted miscellaneous parts.

Thanks - I had no idea that was back there. We hardly ever head up that way (unless it's a birthday party or Chuck E. Cheese), so I probably won't make a special trip, but I'll definitely remember to check when I'm in the area!

It was kind of a random location, so it was probably temporary...
