If you haven't heard yet, Wired.com is reporting that LEGO and Disney will be giving away 2 million copies of LEGO Avengers Posters featuring most of the LEGO Superheroes minifigures. They will be available at select movie theatres on the opening day of the Marvel Avengers Movie on May 4, 2012. Additional details to follow soon. Thanks to forum member tong for the news.

I don't know about your local theater but the regal by me has a table next to customer service counter where they have all the free promo merch laid out (mostly random posters and what not) I'm guessing it would be there, but Im sure not all theaters do it the same...

I know I keep on bumping this, but I really need to know which theaters will have this poster tomorrow. It really affects my plans for tomorrow. Does anyone know?

Oh, you know these promos - there's never any rhyme or reason in regards to which theaters get them, which don't... except for maybe how much money those theaters have to throw at the studios, which means my local theater is almost destined not to have them.

I'm going to end up seeing it next weekend, unfortunately.

Also, any theaters I've called and actually talked to regarding the poster haven't had any knowledge of what I'm talking about. I've tried the two closest theater to my office in NYC and both theaters close to home - one of each didn't pick up, the other had no idea what I was talking about and no real inclination to ask someone else at the location. The local theater (Fishkill) I can understand, because A: It's not large, and; B: There are like two people ever working there, so she would have known something about it. But the NYC theater, like, c'mon, ask someone else if you don't know. "I don't know, sorry" isn't an acceptable customer service answer!

I'm going to try calling the Poughkeepsie theater again later - hopefully I don't get their robot again, since their options are automated showtimes, automated directions, automated ticket prices or automated "operator not available, goodbye".

Anyone see any of these at the theater? I never got a response at the one local theater, and won't be seeing the movie until this coming Saturday, so I'm not holding out hope...

I'm hoping they offer these with the $50 hulk figure offer, similar to what they did with the R2-D2 offer that came with a minifig and poster. They are however available on feebay

And in another disappointment it was distributed folded in half twice, I hate those creases. It is doublesided though, the back side lists the minifigs, what sets they are in and even shows a preview of the special hulk minifig that is coming in the S@H promo next week.

^ I called the Palisades Mall LEGO Store this afternoon to ask if they had it (as I'd heard they were giving them out at the Queens store on the 4th) and the helpful gent I spoke to corroborated the story - the Avengers poster is part of the "Free Hulk Minifigure w/purchase of $50+" promo, but the calendar says you need to upload a photo of yourself with an in-store cardboard cutout to facebook in order to qualify. I hope it's not that complicated, I don't have a LEGO store nearby and it's not worth a 2 hour drive to portland when gas is $4 a gallon.
