Mastermind Toys Toronto: Warehouse Sale May 23rd - May 27th

Post by Legobrandon » Sun Apr 29, 2012 1:27 pm

If you are looking to buy some new toys at great prices and you don't mind crowds, this is the sale for you! The Mastermind Warehouse sale is being held again on May 23rd - 27th at the International Centre in Mississauga and is advertising sales of up to 70% off. Brands include LEGO, Thomas the Tank Engine, Playmobil, Leap Frog and so much more. Go early for the best selection however last year, they added more discounts at the end of the sale.

If you don't like the idea of standing in line for the sale, you can enter the 'Jump to the Front of the Line Contest' on their Facebook page. Also, if you are curious about what the sale is like, here is a video from the 2009 sale that was held at a smaller location.

WHERE:
International Centre
6900 Airport Rd, Mississauga, ON

WHEN:
May 23, 24 & 25: 10AM-8PM
May 26: 10AM-7PM
May 27: 11AM-5PM

I was just gonna post about this! If you plan to go for LEGO, then I suggest getting there early on the first day. I went to the warehouse sale last year in the first day, and got there about 45 mins before opening and there was already a decent sized line. Talking to a few people in line next to me, I found out that there are a lot of people that go to this sale every year, so it draws big crowds. When the doors opened, everyone filed in in an orderly fashion (handled very well by the staff, I might add), but once inside, there was a mad rush for the LEGO!

If I recall correctly, prices for LEGO sets were roughly about 25-30% off of MSRP, which is more than enough of a discount for the average customer. As such, LEGO does usually last past the first day, unless they withhold some stock for the duration of the sale.

People are clearing out Lego sets for 25-30% off MSRP? Were the prices based on American MSRP?

Never been to a Mastermind sale and probably won't since it's too far for me to justify a saving. I think, yes, people fight for Lego even at that discount percentage and I don't know why. Most people know Lego is overpriced here and probably any sale is a good sale. That may be why I saw parents clean out the City line at Zellers even at 30% off and that gave me a big :what?: I also don't understand why parents buy Lego only.....for boys who are always rough on their toy cars I think any brand should do. Kre-o is an excellent substitute but no parent cares. Collectors (TFOL and AFOL) are different.

Yeah as already....a bit nuts for 25-30% off. We in Canada.....
I will wait for the states or just go to a local TRU when the stuff is 20-25% off.
