Curious about this kit?

Why is it so costly on EBAY?
I saw this in the store about a month ago and i decided to go with 4435 instead.
I thoroughly enjoyed 4435 and am not upset with the choice.
But i am curious of the price hike on this set?
Any thoughts CITY collectors (or non CITY collectors)?

I think it is because it has been discontinued and is no longer available at S@H, LEGO Stores or Target etc. I was hoping to pick up a second one on clearance, but here it sold out before I ever saw it on sale. It's a great set though!

it is possible some Toys R Us still have it. if you go on tru.com and enter your location it will tell you if you can pick it up near you.

Price isn't that bad on the secondary market. Same as you, I passed this one up for the yellow car with tow hitch. The old school green stripes on the car camper just kills it for me, otherwise it would have been an instant pick up just for the overall design.

I will keep looking for it (Dont wanna overypay though), i have heard nothing but good things on the build and the kit.
Would definitely love to have one in my LEGO City.

I bought it on sale for like 9% off or sometime stupid from Target 18 months ago, awesome set, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. The new yellow car and train is pretty sweet too.

Plus you could always get the pink and lime green Friends one.

Yeah I don't understand why LEGO didn't just make the new set pink and one of the new blues or purple.
