Lego Store March 15 Shamrock Deal?

Post by mrfootball » Mon Mar 05, 2012 10:43 am

Noticed in the March calendar, if you find the Shamrock, you'll receive special savings. Anyone know what kind of savings we're looking at? Does it vary? 10%, 20%, 50%????

The last one of these that I remember was for Harry Potter last summer. I believe it was a $5 discount off a $25 purchase.

They did this exact thing last year, too. Find the shamrock and get a prize.

Here it is from last year:
viewtopic.php?t=2591&p=18800" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Says $5 off $25. Apparently there was a raffle last year too.

Of course this year's thing could be different.

Last year it was at the top of the PAB wall at Arden Fair store, hopefully I can make it there on the 15th, last day of double points too.

$5 discount doesn't even cover the extra hit on gas to go to a LEGO Store for me. If I'm going to hunt for a 4-leaf clover there's going to have to be a percentage involved.

Thinking about doing this on my lunch hour on the 15th and picking up the MBA Series 1 set... Hopefully they will still have it in stock and the 'clover' discount will make it worth while... I can order the other MBA sets online and get free shipping/double points on the same day...

For those that did this last year, is it simply saying 'I saw the clover at X location, give me my discount...?'

^Thanks for the reminder! I was already planning on heading over to my local store tomorrow anyway, but I probably would've forgotten to look for the shamrock!

I'm just going to add to the rumor mill here...but I was at my local Lego store (Tysons Corner) a couple of days ago and asked about it. They weren't sure, but thought it might 10% off, at best. So I used the 10% coupon I already had. Looking forward to hearing from someone who goes, to see if it's worth the 5min drive after dinner tonight to check it out.

I happened to be at the mall , it is $5 off $25. Happy Hunting...

You can fill out a form for a raffle, I forget the details but it was a PAB cup and a $10 gift card.

Can you combine the $5 with the 10% coupon from the mail?

I don't know as I already used my 10% coupon, but generally they allow only one offer. I would ask as you never know.

I happened to be at the mall too, but didn't have much time to search for the Shamrock because I had to get to work and the staff wouldn't help out or even point me in the right direction to find it. I made two rounds around the store to no avail and left empty handed. I was ready to pick a set (Winter Post Office on sale) up too... The discount isn't worth that hassle.

Drag, I already used mine!

Maybe I'll take this "opportunity" to pick up the MBA Kit 1...

Used my 10% Off Coupon + $5 off Shamrock and $5 in VIP Cash to buy the UCS Imperial Shuttle set for $224+tax (not including the $25 received in VIP bucks with the double points offer!). I think the UCS Imperial Shuttle is destined to be a classic and I figured there may not be too many more opportunities to get this set for less than MSRP. (now if I can only figure out where to hide this...)

They honored both discounts at the Glendale, AZ store as well.

They should have a find-the-shamrock on the lego.com website. That would be something.
