Hello from Australia!

Post by skayen » Mon Feb 06, 2012 4:20 am

Hi!

I recently got back into lego after 'owning' some as a child (I wouldn't say I ~collected~ lego per se) and a brief interlude in early 2000 with the Star Wars UCS X-Wing and TIE-Fighter. I am trying to catch up by collecting Technic and OT Star Wars sets ;-)

I am from Adelaide, Australia, where Lego is ungodly expensive. The UCS SSD 10221 is close to $800 AUD here, despite our dollar being slightly above parity with the USD. My solution is to buy everything overseas. Even with insane shipping costs, it works out to be cheaper than buying locally, unfortunately. (The last set I bought was the 10212 Shuttle from Amazon. Shipping to Australia via a proxy cost $90 AUD, but it still worked out to be quite a bit cheaper than forking over ~$440 AUD for it in the shops here...)

Anyway, I just thought I'd post to say hello!

cheers
John

Hey John.

I sent a friend of mine who recently moved to Australia the Canadian/Lumberjack minifigure.

So I guess that adds to the Lego pieces on your continent.
