Thank you for the very helpful info! I'm afraid that every Zellers will be different and some might put it in the toy section and some might put it near the entrance. Either way, i'm going to be at the store early in the morning. Also going to try the BOGO trick I posted earlier.111ins wrote:I was in to the local store yesterday and they said they were going to be on skids in the toy section. It sounded like there were going to be a lot... they said I would not need to line up, but don't wait until the afternoon :)

I won't be able to go after all...after checking my school exam schedule again, I have an exam early in the morning tomorrow (well, later today). Would have been nice to get a second City Corner set but meh...oh well. Hope everyone that doesn't have one yet and is looking to get one is able to.

Re: [CAN] Zellers Save $50 on City Corner & Blizzard 's Peak
Heading to the Zellers soon. Not sure If I will buy 2, 4, or 6. I am going on a trip to NH and Mass after Xmas...hoping the lego stores there will have better deals but wow...this is too low in Canada to pass up.
Just got back from the Zellers at Atwater (Alexis Nihon) It was quite good, I purchased two City Corners and two Blizzard's Peak.
The City Corners originally rang up as $79.99 but I was telling the woman, here look at the ad and while you are at it, notice it is BOGO 50% and I have a $10 Gift Card when you get $40 worth of stuff. She also applied the 15% off. So all in all, I paid $93 + tax for all plus I got a $10 gift card for free and I applied another $10 gift card so really only $83 + tax! I could have gotten an extra $10 coupon if I seperated it out but not sure if that would have been confusing enough to let the other stuff slip. Either way! Great deal!

Got back from my local Zellers, they had less than one skid total, about 20 Blizzard Peaks and 10 City Corners. Still better than nothing and gone within a minute of opening so they had some and limit was 1 per customer.
Re: [CAN] Zellers Save $50 on City Corner & Blizzard 's Peak
The Zellers I went to had about 10 City Corners but they had no limit. I saw people carrying 2 or 3 boxes of City Corners. I got there as soon as it opened but the people ahead of me had grabbed all the City Corners by the time I got to the skid. There were 2 Blizzard Peaks left but I didn't get anyone because I only wanted the City Corner.loporjai2003 wrote:Got back from my local Zellers, they had less than one skid total, about 20 Blizzard Peaks and 10 City Corners. Are you near Montreal mate? I'll sell you one of my City Corners for $35 which is equal to the $29.99 + the tax I paid.shaozhi wrote:The Zellers I went to had about 10 City Corners but they had no limit. Quiet the lineup but was able to snag one of each - I agree with prior comments - they were gone within less than 30 seconds. People were literally running through the isles - some even running into a Zellers employee... but it is a great deal. Was able to combine it with the 10% off and the $10 gift card. After tax it was about $51 because they let me use the Gift Card. Not bad at all for these two sets! I wish they had sales like that more often!!!

Re: [CAN] Zellers Save $50 on City Corner & Blizzard 's Peak
For both Zellers I visited, I arrived just after somebody picked up the last ones they had (both times I saw people with 3 in cart/hand
). Judging by the size of the bin, Zellers had at most 10 of each. Glad to see others here had some luck, but for me this was a complete waste of time.
For those of you on the west coast who still have a couple of hours, I suggest you get there just before opening if you want a fair chance of picking up either/both of these sets.

I arrived 30 minutes early (I did not plan to but it just happend that Timmie's wasn't busy) - got really busy about 10 minutes before opening.autobrick wrote:For both Zellers I visited, I arrived just after somebody picked up the last ones they had (both times I saw people with 3 in cart/hand). So is it confirmed that these will be in the toy isle? Did anyone try getting BOGO 50? I'm going to head out soon, I hope all the moms and dads won't beat me to it.

Re: [CAN] Zellers Save $50 on City Corner & Blizzard 's Peak
Got there 2 minutes too late. I see a guy walking away with the last City Corner. There were still loads of Blizzard Peak. I grabbed one of those so it wouldn't be a total wasted trip. Yeah, there were lots of parent types around.
Re: [CAN] Zellers Save $50 on City Corner & Blizzard 's Peak
Same story here. Went to 3 Zellers in Toronto and couldn't get any.autobrick wrote:For both Zellers I visited, I arrived just after somebody picked up the last ones they had (both times I saw people with 3 in cart/hand). One store I was 3 minutes after opening, another one was 2 minutes before their official store hour.

Re: [CAN] Zellers Save $50 on City Corner & Blizzard 's Peak
Just came back. We were the first ones to line up at the entrance. This store has 3 entrances, one inside the mall, two outside. I lined up at the one closest to the escalators. We arrived 20 mins early, and after a while the line started to grow to about 15-20 people. When the doors opened I sprinted up the escalator to find a table with about 20 City Corners and 20 Blizzard's Peak. I grabbed two of each. Within 40 all of them were gone. The City Corners were the fastest to go out of stock. Since I had an extra one of each, I gave them to unhappy parents who lined up for nothing. At the register, the lady allowed me to use both the 15% off discount and the Gift Card coupon, she even allowed me to use the gift card on the purchase. At fist she said we were only allowed to use one coupon, but then I told her the Zellers employees said we can combine both offers. I think this sale would of have been better if they only allowed 1 type/theme per person, so everyone will have a chance at getting one. Some moms got 5 City corners and 5 Blizzard sets. So after taxes, the total came to $47.10

Handed cashier the two coupons at checkout at which point she said that I couldn't use both coupons. I informed her that I was told we could so she takes a look again, "Oh, it's not a 30% off coupon(or something like that)..."

Re: [CAN] Zellers Save $50 on City Corner & Blizzard 's Peak
It was pretty crazy here at the one in Calgary Sunridge. I was there early but with 15 minutes to go more people showed up. When they opened the door it was a mad scramble. Everyone got to the LEGO aisle and didn't see anything then a employee pointed out the skid up the aisle and the pack descended.
Figure they had about 3-4 dozen of each...the City Corner going faster. Got what I needed. 30minutes later there were only about 6 Blizzard's Peak left.
They didn't allow stacking of coupons or BOGO...as the cashier said...you're getting over 50% off! Not worth the hassle...it was a good deal.

Has anyone tried to price match this at TRU or Walmart yet?

My sister in law got to a Zellers in Toronto at 8:00 (opening) was one of the first people in, and the store had, wait for it, 8, yes EIGHT City Corners. You send 8 to a store in the largest city in Canada? She could only get 2 of them and since she has 2 kids, she couldn't get me any. Oh well, it wasn't a must have set for me, so I'll survive. I still bitter about LEGO cancelling my Imperial Flagship though.

Re: [CAN] Zellers Save $50 on City Corner & Blizzard 's Peak
Yup. WalMart price matched no problem at all. They needed a manager to override the discount but zero problems along the way. The only problem you might encounter is that not many WalMarts have this set in stock...unclephn wrote:Has anyone tried to price match this at TRU or Walmart yet?
I don't think this will work at TRU though as they will likely want to call Zellers to ask if it is in stock - they only price match if its in stock (its a useless policy essentially).
