Well, this appears to be a chance to get your Super Heroes sets at a decent price. Buy One Get One 50% off on LEGO sets, excluding Star Wars and sales items, from Dec. 16-17. It doesn't explicitly say excluding Super Heroes. But maybe they'll put them on 1% off sale. ;)

I'm not looking for tru deals anymore. Not worth the time with those markups. I'll come back again in January, assuming there won't be deals post-Christmas. Wallet is hurting badly with purchases running in the thousands. Anyone bought stuff in the ten Ks range?

That's crazy, so buying it as the 50% product would be the same price as shop at home. But, you would have to pay way over MSRP on your first set. Amazes me that people actually pay these crazy marked up prices.

with all of tru's ridiculous markups, you actually get a semi-decent deal with the batmobile/2 face set. if you're lucky enough to find 2 of them on the shelves, you would be saving 17.5% off of each set, which isn't too bad for a brand new, just released set...

never mind, i just saw the fine print on the ad, excludes superheroes...figures!
why do they bother to state "
ALL" in bold red capital letters every single time in their ads when there is always an exclusion?!?!?!

Which ad are you looking at? The one I found on the web site last night said only Star Wars excluded. Now granted it's not working on-line, but I was going to try Batmobile in-store.

Yep. I am in the same boat as you nate. I'm in "pay off Lego debt mode atm"...Have dropped entirely too much on Lego this year, so in essence, with TRU jacking up their prices so much during the Holidays, it makes my life easier... Just gonna wait until after Christmas to see if TRU will lower prices back to a reasonable level.... there will always be more BOGO 50% sales.
You also never know what B&N is gonna get, and they still give out 30-50% off coupons. If TRU decides to keep their super-TRU tax after Xmas, I'll just shift to B&N as my primary Lego outlet.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Wow. They actually changed the ad. Here's a link to the ad I was emailed last night, and took the screenshot of in the OP. Some time during the day they changed it to exclude DINO, Ninjago Rise of the Snakes, Super Heroes, Mindstorms, and sale items. But *not* Star Wars.

B&N is great. Selections are increasing and just seems like no one visits them at all. The ones near me still have some "discontinued" sets. I'll probably grab them with 50% coupon post Christmas, especially if the sets were to retire from shop@home.

City Dump Truck added online. $21.99. Not sure if that's a markup or not. Garbage truck started at $19.99 and then went to $24.99.
