40% worked, but the 50% from above link didn't ("this was already used on 10/27")...

That sounds close to what was the case at my local B&N, they were remodeling the store, One of the things they are doing is putting in a larger kids section in the back (for my local store) Even though it was still not completely done it was open to the public through a 3-4 wide opening in the construction 'wall' (paper/plastic hanging from the ceiling).

My local B&N has also recently expanded their kids section and in turn, the Lego section as well.

They have a big display for the Lego sets, an Architecture display, Games display, and then they have a Star Wars section and Harry Potter section.

Holy cow, I wish the store nearby had Creator sets! The selection is so limited, I've walked in w/ the last 2 40% coupons and walked away not buying anything.

I didn't get a chance to use the coupon, but I was wondering if you had to be a member in order to use the 40% off? I'm not a member, but these coupons are available from time to time and I don't want to miss out again.

Does anyone know how frequently B&N offers these coupons? Should we count on more during the holidays? After?

I'd rather wait for a 40% coupon than go with TRU's BOGOs, which at most generally net only a 25% discount per set if sets of equal value are bought and not marked up.

Here's hoping B&N doesn't mark up their Lego like Borders and TRU.

Also, anyone know if Books-A-Million (BAM) ever offers such awesome coupons? Their Lego sets are MSRP and they seem to be taking over some of the old Borders locations, at least the one in Harrisburg, PA.

BN had the 40% off during the first and last weeks of October but before these I didn't see them but I didn't have a saved search for BN on other deal websites before then. I agree that these deals generally can't be beat. Based on based experience I would expect on at the end of November.

Remember to not present the coupon at first.
Give them your membership # for 10% off.
Then when the new lowered price is shown hand them the coupon.
Actual savings then is 46%!

I have been tracking BN for lego since 2004 and rarely saw these straight 40% off coupons. Their appearance could be in response to kicking up business in a down economy. However, stackable coupons and sales were available before where you could have stacked 25% off coupon on top of a sale item that was marked 10-25% off resulting in maximum 43% off.

Borders used to have similar coupons of 40% off except they began marking up their Lego by about 20%.

I wonder how B&N sees competition from other stores and sites like Books-A-Million and Amazon, respectively and if we'll see more of these 40% coupons. I've been holding off on buying some sets with TRU's BOGOs hoping I can get 40% off.
