Batman minifigs on Ebay

Post by anthonyj8 » Thu Nov 10, 2011 8:02 pm

I'm not sure if this is a huge deal, but an article at Brick Heroes infomed me of a LEGO listing on Ebay including minifigs from the 2012 Super Heroes theme.
Brick Heroes wrote:While there, record broken: The minifigs range Superheroes 2012: Batman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Poison Ivy, The Riddler and Robin are already for sale on eBay.

No idea of the origin of these minifigs, the seller is located in Mexico and asked for a $ 100 minimum set of 6 minifigs including: two versions of Batman, Robin, The Joker, Poison Ivy and The Riddler .
If you want to see the listing, go here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-batman-LEGO-O ... 3f0ff0db64" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
With about 6 days left, 0 bids, and $10 shipping, it's your decision. :???:

Even if the seller is legit, I would be hesitant to buy from Mexico, their mail system sucks, it would likely take forever and may or may not arrive in good condition or at all. But very cool to think these are so close to being available in stores.

I can see your point, and I'll be surprised to see who bids on it. Probably someone who really wants these figs before they're released, and will then sell them to someone else for a higher price.

He has a Wonder Woman minifig up too. Anything from Mexico these days seems sketchy to me. We'll probably read about these figures hanging from a bridge somewhere.
Disclosure of location should be required when listing your finds!

Oh yeah, thanks. I didn't notice the Wonder Woman fig. So far it has 2 bids at $19.99, and shipping is $8.00. It ends in 5 days, and is listed by the same seller. If your interested, take this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wonder-Woman-Le ... 3f0ff0e13a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And I'm a little suspicious about these listings as well, but all's legit that ends legit. ;-)

There is a major LEGO production facility in Monterrey, Mexico. Likely an insider making a litte extra cash by leaking them out.

I'd understand more if these minifigs were retired, but why pay so much for ones that are coming out soon? I mean, I'm sure most of us are here to find deals, get sets/minifigs at major discounts, not pay 10x.
I'm a sucker to pay premium for the latest in technology, but I'm not understanding the same concept toward Legos. :p

I see where you're coming from adol. I mean the Kindle Touch comes out next Tuesday and I pre-ordered it with 2-day shipping for $20 extra. ;-) But I suppose with LEGOs some people just feel like they need to get every new thing before everyone else. I sure won't bid on the Batman figs, but 7 others have already. I guess it really depends on if you have the money, the passion, and the determination.

I agree. Some people get super jazzed about stuff. I was so pumped about admiral ackbar I thought about bidding on the sdcc preview set for it. The budget wouldn't allow that though lol. The buyer
Might also be looking to resell them at a higher price too if they are the only game in town. It's a tight time window but people are weird.

Yeah, look at the Black Pearl... Was selling for $150-$200 or something like that in the short window.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.
