[USA] Potential Wal*mart Clearance?
So stopped into a Wal*Mart on my way home as I had heard that they have great clearance stuff. The clearance section had all of their ATLANTIS stuff on it and some games (Magma Monster?). I did check them on the scanner and with an employee and they were ringing up normal retail...but have a feeling that that all could be going soon so keep your eyes peeled.
Also, on a side note: there was an INDIANA JONES set there as well. When was the last one issued? This was the "Fighter plane attack" from 2009. I was hoping it would have been SEVERELY marked down and I would have one of those "you know how much I paid for it?" stories...but it was full price: 49.99
ug.

My walmart did a weird thing after having a bunch of lego in their clearance isle marked at full price. They removed them all from the clearance section and put them on the very top shelf of the lego isle. Some scan for full price, some scan for like 20% off, and then others scan for "please see an associate." I don't know what they are doing but apparently they needed the row that was clearance for something else. I'm hoping they mark all these way down on a day I happen to be there.
The IJ set would be a good find. It regularly sells for $60-$70 on eBay. I would buy it if I found it but I'm an IJ fan.

My walmart does the same thing (as do some others). A bunch of toys, including lego, are put in the clearance aisle with red stickers but are still full price. Perhaps they're trying to trick customers? Or are just very unorganized? Either way, it can be frustrating and doesn't seem to be indicative of whether sets are going to be reduced eventually or not.turtle1173 wrote:My walmart did a weird thing after having a bunch of lego in their clearance isle marked at full price. That may be one of the many reasons that place freaks me out a bit.

that would be a correct assumption.chicagorando wrote:...

I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

They did that a few weeks ago when you could get a free battle pack at TRU, they built a huge center stage of battlepacks at full price. My wife was like "hey hun, look at that ...must be on sale!" Ran over to see if I could get it for 50% off or something or BOGO....nope 14.99!!!
